  I had a great experience using Polaris Home Funding for my recent home purchase. The process was seamless and when I asked Nick for help making things move towards a quick closing he made it a priority and met and exceeded our goals.   We used Polaris at the recommendation of our realtor. Our realtor had always had good experiences with them. But we did not have a good experience with Polaris and with the agent, Nick. Nick always seemed to not be on top of things and not know the proper details of what was happening with the loan and sale, and the closing. On more than one occasion he told us the wrong closing date, even though our realtor told him several times the correct information. We aren't sure if Nick was just too busy with too many things going on, but he made our experience very uncomfortable. Even though Nick had the information up front, a month or more in advance about our loan not qualifying as a farm loan (which would have received a tax reduction), he calculated the monthly payment as if we were receiving the tax discount. Then, at the very end, he told us suddenly that our payment would be $300.00 more than he originally told us. He was basing the amount he told us on having the tax credit the entire time, even though he was told (and he knew) we weren't applying for that kind of loan. The worst part was that, when Nick made these mistakes, he never owned up to them. He made excuses and we felt he was not being honest about the situation. And finally, before our 1st payment (which isn't until April 1st) even begins, we found out that Polaris has ALREADY sold our loan to another company. This is after Polaris spammed us for 2 weeks with junk mail, after we moved into our new home. I would highly discourage doing business with these people, especially if you have a delicate and challenging situation in your home purchase. They got the job done and it worked out, but it was with many problems.
