  Can't say enough good things about Star of Texas CU! Staff is greeeaat, response rate is quick and online banking gives me the exact information I need. A real personal touch!

  I am reviewing startxcu because of a most recent experience. I have been with startxcu since mid 1980's. The only issues with them have been when the website has been updated, twice within the last several years if my memory is correct. And a few times a callback was expected but not done by anyone. This CU has been very helpful in accommodating me with what I call my "money managenent", getting the best return on certain funds. Most recently, I'd put off doing my 2020 tax return and needed a document. Juanita was very helpful and if I hadn't received the last minute, prompt service she gave me, I'd have had to file my return late. Although I don't visit the location as much as I used to, it does seem their turnover rate might be a little high but I can't say for sure. Maybe that's why there are some negative reviews. Thank you, Juanita, for the good service you me.

  Worst customer service and professionalism of any business I have dealt with. I've been given completely wrong information multiple times regarding my auto loan. This is not the Star of Texas Credit Union I've done business with for over 20 years. It's gone far down hill and I would run quickly away from giving this incompetent institution your money or business.

  I have been a Member for over 25 years. Bought & paid off several low interest car loans over the years. Love the annual Christmas Loans they provide every year too! Staff has always been helpful & friendly. I am very happy with Star of Texas Credit Union!

  This Juan (Loan Supervisor) and Juanita (Branch Manager) are both the most inconsiderate and non customer friendly people I have ever met in this industry. They left my wife and I on hold for over an hour (still holding as we write this review) all the while trying to push us off on some poor young man that had no knowledge whatsoever as to what was going on or what was needed from them. On my credit report CURRENTLY, there is a balance for over $5,100. The balance was PAID over 2-3 MONTHS AGO but yet this past January and February they reported me as having late payments. I WAS NEVER LATE!!! and they are REFUSING to give me a letter "on company letterhead" stating that all 3 of my accounts has been paid off. I am trying to purchase a house which I shared with them and the underwriter is requesting this information but they obviously DO NOT CARE. Juan sent message through the poor young man that "he needs a something from the credit bureau showing the balance" even though Juanita has already written us a letter stating we have a zero balance on all 3 accounts BUT she wrote it in a Word Doc. We need it to be written on "Company Letterhead". Jaunita is refusing to take our call and rewrite the letter on "company letterhead". This is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I have ever received and this has been going on for 2-3 MONTHS now. The very first time I called I was first transferred around their LITTLE branch like it was a corporate office until I finally hung up. Then after getting someone to answer I was told I needed to send a request in writing so I did and the email was never answered. So I called again and again and was left on hold forever until I finally just hung up. Well today 10/27/2020 so far I have been on hold 2:34 minutes before they hung up on me. I was told by the poor young man that I would be placed in line with all the walk-ins the branch is getting today.... STILL HOLDING

  I was with this CU for 8 months, and it takes about that long to reach anyone on the phone. You’ll be in an automated queue for 45 minutes if you call in the AM, then PM system has the dial by directory which leads to a full mailbox or it disconnects completely when you hit 0. Not worth it.
