  The person helping us through the closing process was knowledgeable and friendly. The process went fairly smoothly. I was disappointed that my name was spelled incorrectly on nearly every piece of paper, which resulted in my needing to hand-correct it in every instance. The people who initiate the paperwork could pay more attention to detail and get it right. Attention to detail is their job, after all.

  Patten Title has definitely changed the "standard" title company experience! They are ALWAYS extremely responsive, attentive to details and really care about building life long business relationships. They work tirelessly through the refi and purchase boom to accommodate every client/borrower's schedule, even if that means offering a complimentary closing after hours. They are experts at what they do and are happy to share their knowledge! I would not think of working with another title company, after their white glove, 5 star experience!

  Now that our closing is over, I am spreading the word about our horrible experience with Patten Title. I wish I could give a negative star rating! Fyi, we did not use a realtor for this transaction as we were selling our home to our daughter. Maybe that was a mistake because we had to handle more things on our own that a realtor probably could have otherwise handled, including dealing with this title company! First, it should be noted that we did not get to choose our title company or we would have never chosen a title company over an hour from where we live. Our mortgage guy assigned us to Patten and we did not realize that we ever had a choice as he did not tell us! After speaking to other realtors and title companies, we realized that this should have never happened. Obviously the mortgage people are in some kind of agreement with Patten. Firstly, their communication needs major improvement, both internal and external. Once person will promise something but once you're handed off to the next person, they know nothing about what that other person assured you of. In our case, we wanted to close in Sugar Land because the Cypress office is over an hour away from where we live. We were assured by one person that we could do that and she said she would make note of it. Fast forward to almost time for closing, and I decided to double check (thank goodness!) that it would still be in Sugar Land. The person I double-checked with was a different person, as we were constantly handed off to other people. She knew NOTHING about this! Since it was last minute, they weren't able to fit us in in Sugar Land and ended up paying for us to have a mobile notary come to our home. The notary lady was outstanding, but then problems arose with our paperwork from Patten. The paperwork was sloppily done. Mistakes were made that should have never been made if they had been more diligent in their research. For instance - they had the wrong county on our paperwork. Counties are easy to determine if you just check. Then they had both my husband and I listed as permanent residents of Arkansas, where we have NEVER even lived! If they had checked our IDs that we sent them, they would have seen we live in Texas! These were simple mistakes that didn't need to happen. Back to communication - they didn't seem to like when we would call them. They were good at email communication, I'll give them that. But there were a few instances where we had to call them and their phone manners were lacking. It was very obvious that they were annoyed that we called instead of emailing. Finally, our final payment was messed up. My husband had to call (again not welcomed) and spend time asking questions in order to sort it out. All in all, it was a stressful and confusing experience. We are not new at this - we have bought and sold plenty of homes and dealt with many title companies. Never have we dealt with one this sloppy. Beware!

  Eunice, Oscar, Crystal and the whole team at Patten Title Cypress are my go to title company! Once the file is in their hands, I don’t worry. I have up to date communication from them throughout the whole process. They cater to meet our needs and I appreciate them so much for it!!
