      I have been renting from Outer Banks Blue the past several years and have always had great customer service and friendly knowledgeable encounters. They seem to go the extra mile for their guests to make sure they have a positive vacation. I like the fact that there are many perks included in their rentals (linens, towels, no extra pet fees). Their properties seem to be better maintained than other rental companies. Overall, I would highly recommend renting from them!

      We have had great experiences with Outer Banks Blue. The team is very responsive and professional. Our family of 12 were able to enjoy time together comfortably in the rental. We were just a short walk to the beach and local restaurants. Worth every penny!!!!

      My family and I stayed at one of Outer Banks Blue's rental houses and enjoyed every moment. The OBBVR team was quick with their responses to any issues we ran into and also did a fantastic job of cleaning the house (which was a more tasking project during COVID-19). I highly recommend any of the rental properties through this company. You will love every second while you're there.

      We booked a house through this company and the experience was just terrible and they did not seem to care about our issues. 1) They did not let us check in until 9 PM because they were still cleaning the house. Check in was scheduled for 4 PM and they called us to tell us it wouldn't be ready until 6 PM. That was fine, but then we received no further communication. We arrived at the property hoping to relax and get our kids to the bathroom but we were told we couldn't enter until the cleaners leave. We had to wait outside for 1-2 hours with exhausted kids and parents. 2) The house basement and pool area flooded after a storm. We reported it immediately but the company didn't send anyone to clean the pool until 1.5 days later. We were not able to use the pool again because of this. We had to use towels to dry the basement ourselves. We had to spend a lot of time dealing with these issues when we were supposed to be relaxing...It cost us almost two days of our trip. And what did the company offer us? $200 back! We spent more than $5k on the house and they weren't willing to refund us for a single day. Don't recommend and won't use again.

      Hi Barry, we're very sorry we were so backed up on proper cleaning that we didn't have your vacation rental ready for you until 9 PM, 5 hours after we should have had the property ready. We're very sorry for this. With the flooding, which was caused by a storm, that rained excessively, we had this fixed the following day. We did everything we could to prevent the flooding from being an inconvenience to you and your family. While we cleaning up for the flood it was reported that the pool area was also dirty from the storm dumping debri into it. We cleaned the pool and fixed the chemical imbalance caused by the storm. We're sorry this couldn't be fixed right away and it took a little over a day. We're sorry you felt the compensation was insufficient but the only item that was truly our fault was the cleaning and we believe the amount for that was appropriate. The other items were caused by a very bad storm that hit the area and we did our best to try resolve the issues it caused.

      So recently we rented a house from Outer Banks Blue rental agency. The trip was with my extended family and our mother and was put together in memory of our beloved brother/son who died last summer in a fluke fishing boat accident. The house was upwards of 9000 dollars for the week. We’ve never been to the outer banks before so we were all very excited. At first glance the house looked perfect! But as we slowly examined the house we noticed many things wrong ..and not things that could be ignored. Most of the ceiling fans were either broken or only turned very slowly. The remotes to the TVs were non functional and most did not have batteries in their backs. The MAIN tv which looked beautiful could not be used because the remote was not functioning. (After many calls they did send someone to fix it the last day we were there.)The pool filter did not function and the water was cloudy(they did send someone to fix it eventually) The grill was filthy and had old hot dogs in it from a previous renter. ( see picture) The couch on the bottom floor had old beer bottles and cereal in it(mind you we couldn’t check in before 4 because of their extra cleaning). The basketball net rim was hanging from the pole and looked like it was going to fall any minute. One of the kids had brought a basketball down on his lap for 8 hours but even tho they came and got the rim they never replaced it. The swing set on the property was broken and had a hanging broken swing on it. One of the closets(that they knew about previously because they called the first day about it but never came out to fix it) leaked water from rain and smelled like mold and mildew..that was the room where 4 young teens slept. I called Monday and talked to someone in their customer service who typed everything down and said we would hear from someone. When the day went by and we didn’t hear anything I called back and was told they had no record of my phone call. I then talked to Terry the manager who was condescending and never even apologized for all that we had to deal with until I begged him too. Another day went by and nothing, so my brother who is a state trooper called and spoke to Terry. Terry said to write down everything and send him a text. I want to emphasize that I’d the company had been remorseful of everything we probably would have let it go..but they were horrible!!! Today we received an email saying they would offer us 200 dollars off our next rental with them...are they CRAZY!!?!!!!! Like we would ever rent with them again! Anyway..the purpose of this review is to let you know of all the trouble we had and a rental company that gladly took our money and offered NO restitution at all in response to all of our inconveniences. If we rented a place for 800, I could see this but 9000!!?!! I’m beyond speechless. ☹️

      You checked-in on 6/27. The leaseholder was texted asking if anything was wrong when you arrived. There was no response. In the afternoon of 6/29 it was reported to us that there were multiple issues with TVs not working, batteries missing, the basketball hoop was missing, a rusted speaker,and issues with fans. The following day we had someone out there who resolved the majority of the issues. One fan was missing a remote and so the owner had to be contacted to see if a spare was placed somewhere, one TV required a professional because of how the AV was set up, and the basketball hoop was replaced the following day. Nothing else mentioned was reported until your vacation was over. For some of these items, this is the first we're hearing of it.The rusted speaker and the fan are both outdoor, which is why they looked rusted. The rusted outdoor speaker hasn't been operable for a long time and just hasn't been removed by the owner, but we also don't advertise it. We will communicate to the owner that anything no longer functioning should be removed as to avoid this confusion. We do our best to try to make sure the property is ready to be occupied. We absolutely make mistakes. For example, clearly, the basketball hoop should have been reported to us by either our housekeepers or inspectors, and we hope that we do spot issues and you arrive to there being none. We definitely made some mistakes, but once these items were reported to us we did our best to resolve them quickly.

      Outer Banks Blue is a FANTASTIC rental agency to work with. We just got back from a delightful Christmas beach trip and stayed at one of their rentals. Everything was perfectly clean. They are so so helpful and professional responding promptly to every inquiry I had. Our 5 year old lost his dog stuffed animal while we were there. Not only did they find his doggie, but they sent it to us in the mail along with a cute dog bowl and some toys for our kids. Talk about above and beyond!!! We will definitely book with Outer Banks Blue in the future, and would highly recommend them to anyone else. Thanks Outer Banks Blue!

      We rented an amazing house in the Villages of Ocean Hill a short walk from the beach. We had planned on spending every day on the beach, but 3 and a half days of rain made us change those plans. We were so happy we rented from Outer Banks Blue. The house was immaculate and so clean. They had a welcome bag waiting on the kitchen island, and even before we arrived they reached out to us with info about what the house had on hand and what we would need to bring. The house had games, movies, and even an XBOX, which came in handy during our rainy days. The communication from the team at Blue was just right and they responded quickly to our inquiries. When we return to OBX we will be renting from them again. -Thad English

      We rented a house in Duck through VRBO, but it is managed by Outer Banks Blue Vacation Rentals and they were wonderful to work with! Very prompt on communicating, kept up with us the entire time that we were in Duck and have followed up multiple times to make sure everything was taken care of the way it should be! We will definitely be using hem again!!

      Outer Banks Blue is the best place I have ever rented from at the OBX. We have been using them for the last three years and have never been disappointed. Their vacation homes are always clean and operational. This year we rented The Greystone II in Kill Devil Hills from June 13-20 and was highly pleased with the home. It was immaculately clean just like the pre-arrival video stated. House had numerous outside decks to sit and relax as well as a screened in deck. A short 5 minute walk to the beach and businesses. The private pool and hot tub allowed us to enjoy quality family time together after being at beach during the day. It was a blessing to have an elevator which made loading and unloading things from floor to floor easy. It had a bonus living room with TV, full bath and mini fridge on the ground floor that allowed the kids to have their private time playing video games and watching TV. The staff always checks on your stay via text messages to assure that you are enjoying your vacation. Our family is looking forward to our next stay with Outer banks Blue.

      Outer Banks Blue is a great realty company, all complaints and issues are dealt with easily and quickly. Their rentals are all very clean and nice homes. My only issue with the company is not offering right of first refusal to previous renters. We stayed in Sea Song II and were planning on re-booking it again for 2018, but it was already booked for the week we stay. Very disappointing.... We had to rent with another company to get the house next door.

      Hi Gina, we don't offer the next year to guest because there is a growing trend that guests who come back to the Outer Banks enjoy variety and often do not stay in the same property. In effect we are holding the week for the guest that most likely will not book the property and taking that week off the market to be booked by someone else. On the Outer Banks about half the companies place a hold for the current guest for next year and half of us do not. Please be aware that we're not the only one. What we do offer is waiting lists. At any point you can get on the list the book a property with us. Once the rate and availability is known we will contact you and give you first chance to book.
