  Tate and his team were excellent to work with through the entire mortgage loan process. They handled everything I threw at them even dealing with some things on weekends or after work hours. They dealt with all the little odd things that came up to surprise me and worked with me with last minute changes to the amount I wanted to finance. Excellent customer service and response time. Always felt that I was heard, listened to and respected.

  Tate and his team (Brandi) were wonderful to work with. They were very responsive to our emails. They were always very quick at answering any questions & helping us in any way. The whole process was very easy - especially since we were able to upload the documents to the app on our phone. Tate kept everyone else on top of things (appraiser, insurance, etc) to ensure that we could meet the deadline for our closing date! I highly recommend Tate & Brandi.

  If you're looking to purchase on the Outer Banks, your first move to get pre-approved or after getting something under contract, should be to contact Tate Felts at Southern Trust mortgage. Tate helped my wife and I get through the process of buying our first investment property at the OBX, and he worked through every possible scenario to get us the very best deal, and literally saved us thousands by finding the one that worked best for us. He responded promptly to every message and made the application process as smooth as possible. Tate worked closely with our realtor and the closing firm to keep everything on track and moving, and along with our realtor, is the primary reason why we were able to purchase a dream beach house/investment property on the OBX. So remember Tate if you decide to get your own little piece of paradise! It will be the best move you make!

  Tate gets to know you personally during the very intense and often challenging mortgage process. Calming me down when things became difficult and reassuring me when i felt pressured. Never met a person who cared so much about me as a person first not just a client. Southern Trust has a winner in Tate Felts and his staff, i will be recommending everyone i know to join the TEAM at Southern Trust.

  Tate, Diane and Andrea were awesome - always available for my Qs, reassuring that the “next step” would come through and did a lot of the legwork on our behalf (Eg getting information from us and putting it to work elsewhere vs just pointing me a certain direction and letting me “figure it out”). Everything played out exactly as Tate said it would from even before we made an offer and I’d heartily recommend them to anyone looking to buy. Thx to them!

  Tate, Brandi and the rest of the team should be awarded a trophy. The professionalism and attention to detail they exhibited throughout our loan process is unbeatable. Tate and Brandi were in contact every step of the way along with the rest of his team members. You don't get the personalized touch this company provides anywhere else. What should have been a long daunting process was smooth seamless and completely stress-free. Hats off to the closing team as well as they dealt with some large obstacles at the last minute and pulled through beautifully. Thank you again guys for making our dreams come true. Seriously.
