  Applied for a payday loan. Before I completed the transaction I asked if they were doing a "hard check" on my credit which would add an additional inquiry and lower my credit score. The agent assured me three times that it was only a "soft check," and wouldn't be counted as a credit inquiry, so I went ahead and took the loan, which was approved. No more than an hour later, I received an email from Experian telling me that Money Mart had just added a new inquiry to my credit report, a hard check, contrary to what I had been assured. I was furious. The agent had lied to me about this, either because she had been told to be dishonest or because she was misinformed. I went back and they denied everything the same agent had said and refused to correct the problem by recalling the unauthorized credit check. It is ridiculous for a payday loan agency to check the credit of people they loan to anyway because if they had good credit they wouldn't need to be applying for a high-interest payday loan, and you'd think Money Mart knew this. I don't have bad credit but I'd like to keep it that way by keeping my number of credit inquiries as low as possible. And of the other payday loan agencies here, there is only one other one that does a hard check, but they are truthful about it up front with notices in the lobby. I avoid them. Don't patronize this place unless you are really desperate.

  The cashiers here walk in the back when they see customers coming and start acting like they were preoccupied doing something; very unprofessional mannerisms. This place ruined my day. Absolutely disgusting!

  I have come to this location time and time again for Western Union services. The fact that ANY money mart has limited funds is baffling to me. Then I end up having call and drive all over the city looking for a branch that can help with a service that this company advertises that they provide.
