Heidi H1Expect to pay more than your security deposit when you move out. Also, a lot of the good reviews are CLEARLY from lonestar themselves. This place is a nightmare. Greedy and scandalous. They should be blacklisted for soldiers. They advertise military affiliated and retired but they don't care about you, just your paycheck. They know when you PCS you get money.. you will not see your security deposit and will likely have additional charges if you're out of state by the time they get around to checking the property. They keep up with bah rates so if they get increased so does your rent. They have an option to dispute charges on the final bill but they won't provide any proof of their services after the move out, no receipts or invoices, so you have to pay whatever they want to charge with no evidence that they did any work to the property and if you don't pay you get sent to collections. I tried to contact them to dispute charges for over a month with not a single call or reply. My house was cleaned and maintained and frankly, in much better shape than when we moved in. When we moved in the floors were filthy there were bugs everywhere and this was not a crappy house it was gorgeous. The blinds in the master were hanging by threads and all of the paint was clearly not professional but Karen lectured us about how the house needed to be immaculate when we move out and how if the paint looked bad they would charge us for a pro to come out. Hmm wonder if they charged the previous tenant for the filth they left and the broken blinds ( maybe took photos for proof) then never fixed the problem!? Yeah, pretty sure that's how this company works. Also, how on earth are 4 6volt batteries 32.00? That's what Helen claimed their third party vendor charged to put batteries in the smoke alarms.. even though we changed them before we left I'll admit the move out paperwork says to leave them on the counter...oops. By the time I got ahold of someone about my charges i got a one sentence email from Helen saying the charges stand. No explanation nothing. Literally "The charges stand". So much for dispute.. we have over 100 pictures to prove the condition of the house at our move in. She sent me 5 petty pictures that added up to a 200.00 cleaning fee. And by petty i mean super zoomed in and some dust! Seriously stay away from them. Tell all your friends and family. They are a disgrace.

gabrielle lester1Everything was good when we first moved in, and did pretty good with the maintenance requests. However, they tried to charge us for their incompetent mistakes multiple times because they had lost papers and were unorganized. The money we got back from the pet deposit and security deposits was a joke, they charged us for things that were wrong that we put on the initial inspection paper. Rent from them if you want your money stolen from you.

Kiera1Filled out app an got denied due to credit lines; not the credit amount which mine exceeds the requirement. Per there website; A national criminal and sex offender search will be conducted on all occupants 18 years and older. A credit score minimum of 500 or above is required for applicants to be considered. All credit checks will be reviewed by a Credit Manager for approval. So if I have the credit score why is having an outstanding Auto loan an issue? Was able to get approved elsewhere with no problem.
Response from the ownerGood afternoon Kiera, we are sorry we we not able to offer an apartment at this time. If you would like a specific explanation for our decision, please wait for a formal letter to the address you provided, or give us a call at 254-699-7003 Mon-Fri between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Thank you!

anneramer1All they do is feed you complete bull. My parents went up there to talk to the realtor about my husband & I getting added to the lease for a little while until I was able to join the army and go to basic, they told my parents that all we (who by the way wouldn't be paying any rent) would have to do was pay a $1,000 deposit to be added to the lease & when we made the decision that we would be okay with doing that, we put in our application and get a call back about how the amount of rooms (4 bedrooms) and the amount of people, (6, Mom & Dad, Brother, and Sister, then myself & my husband) could not be approved. They told us it would be no problem, then went back on their word. This realtor company tells people what they want to hear, and then changes the story when it comes time for business. I don't understand why they wouldn't have told my parents when they sat down and talked to them the first time that that would have been an issue.....

Daniel Potter1We rented with Lone Star over 3 and a half years. We never missed a payment and left the place in better condition than when we moved in. If you choose Lone Star, be prepared to fight or have to constantly call for most repairs, deal with poor/unethical customer service and be ready to forfeit part of your deposit money on move out, it will happen. Upon move out we hired a cleaning service (our neighbor with Lone Star cleaned her house very well and they still took some of her deposit ) because we wanted to leave them with no excuse to make us pay extra. We did everything required and they still took $300 from us. Want to know what it was? We left 1 curtain rod up and I put down hay on the side yard (It was 3 feet deep with leaf waste when we moved in...I cleaned it up and put hay/tried to plant grass and made a stone path). For this they took $300. They can do this because you really have no recourse....you can submit a written complaint but they know 99% of people will do nothing about it when they reject the written complaint. All of the above and they would have probably gotten 2 stars (poor service)...but this next story has them at 1 star (unethical). We wanted to have our carpet looked at (was very old) and Lone Star sent out a company to check it out. The company said they did not think we were responsible for the wear (normal wear and tear). They did say that if Lone Star was going to make us pay that we should be sure to contact the company directly because if we had Lone Star contract them it would be more expensive. This is because Lone Star jacks up the rate on the tenant and pockets the extra money for the work. I could not believe it...and this was coming from a company Lone Star employed. If you want to trust all of these 1 and 2 sentence, five star reviews then be my guest (sketchy). Having given you a fair warning my conscience is clear.

Destiny Black1Horrible! After submitting a single application , my fiancé was told to submit another application with my name included although we were getting married in a month. So we both would of had to pay the $300+ deposit as opposed to the marriage application with one deposit. One top of that, we were told to wait 3 days for the application to get “approved” before we could pay the deposit but when I came in on the third day to pay it, the lady at the front desk said somebody came in literally a hour before me and paid the deposit so they got the apartment . We were totally ripped off and wasn’t given any of the money back which is ridiculous

Yazmine Rodriguez1Horrible service! They did an inspection in April seen that the water heater was out dated for months and didn't change the unit till it caught on fire. Never renting from here again. It shouldn't take months or a year to fix items in the apartment. Then they tried to charge me for the heater when it broke. This rental company is not worth putting your kids in danger. It's not even worth a damn star.

Christopher Norman1These people are awful! DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! When we moved out they did our inspection and you are supposed to keep your utilities on for 5 business days after you turn your keys in, which we had ours scheduled on for 2 weeks(had proof from our electric company). Lonestar went in THEMSELVES and shut off our electricity before the 5 days and then chraged us $100. We lived in a fourplex and shared a backyard with 3 other dogs not including mine. We picked up all the poop and after we moved, the others dogs pooped in the yard and loneatar charged us for their poop. Anytime you have an issue, they refuse to speak with you, especially the inspection department. These are shady crooks that screw you out of a ton of money!!!

demetrius morris5The team at Lone Star Realty managed a property for us for six years. When it was time to sell our home they got it done in less than a month. They know the area and they know how to work with military families. Great support!
Response from the ownerThank You Mr. Morris for the wonderful review! We appreciate your business and it was our pleasure to serve you and all of your property management and sales needs!

Danette Higginbotham1Ultimately, the customer service was horrible. The way these ladies spoke to me on the phone, more than once, is quite embarrassing (for them). I've been in many different professional fields and would never use the tone or wordage they used. The house with them was my preferred home but I decided to go with a different property because I refuse to allow others to treat me poorly. Especially when I paid them for a service. Signed and put down on a lovely home else where with no trouble.
