After selling a building they wanted me to let them invest it in their new Isler Wealth (Mis)Management Program. They lost $80,000 of my investment but they didn't have a problem taking their monthly fees out. So I lost part of my initial investment and all of the money I could have made if it had been done right. Isler wrote they saved me 100k when I sold my building but they used my sale to learn the IRS rules and had to hire an east coast firm to help them figure it out. They say I picked the stocks I left that up to them. They basically cost me about $230,000 in lost income and principal.

      Response from the owner

Mr. Weil was the beneficiary of Isler CPA’s tax services which saved him $100k+ on the sale of his building using our gain allocation recapture strategies. Separate from our CPA work, at the time, he was invested in: 1) large cap and 2) real estate, so following principles of diversification, Isler CPA diversified by investing in small cap stocks. Unfortunately, rather than following our advice of buy low, and sell high, Mr. Weil decided to do the opposite. As investors know, BOSVX and DSIVX have been 2 of the hottest funds in 2021. Had Mr. Weil followed the recommendation of Isler Wealth Management, he would have earned an additional $167,524 in 6 mos (or 41%+, 82%/yr) on his holdings. Mr. Weil believes his misfortune came by following his financial advisor, as you can see, it was because he did the opposite.

Using this accounting service has been the absolute worst and most stressful experience of my life. I used Isler CPA in 2018 for my first tax return. The only reason I decided to make this review finally in 2020 was because Isler CPA made a mistake in my 2018 return (which my current accountant found), and the IRS has sent me a notice of assessment (in 2020) for 10K because of a mistake Isler CPA caused 2 years ago. This accounting mistake has nearly cost me 10K. With that being said, this is a summary of my horrendous experience with Isler CPA during the 2018 business tax year: 1) Isler CPA never told me anything about what was happening. When I was doing my payroll, they literally sent me payroll checks/pay stubs/forms with absolutely no explanation at all. This happened time and time again. 2) When I would call or email my accountant, I would get CHARGED for this. A simple email or phone call costs you money! Because of this, I was forced to pay for things even though I wouldn't understand them because I didn't want to be charged for asking. So ridiculous that Isler CPA charges for asking questions (my current accountant does not and welcomes questions and phone calls) 3) Isler CPA overcharges you tremendously compared to other accounting firms. My current accountant charged me 1.5K to file my personal and business tax return. On the other hand, Isler CPA wanted to charge me 5K+. Completely absurd. There are many cheaper and higher quality options out there. 4) Isler CPA made numerous mistakes during my time with them. During my entire time with this service, it never felt like I was treated like an actual client that they cared about. I was always given zero attention and help with anything. Emails took days to get back to me. Accountant was never available to speak. When I left Isler CPA, my accountant told me that a lot of the clients that leave come back. Leaving Isler CPA was the best move I ever did. For anyone considering Isler CPA, just know that an accountant is supposed to make your life EASIER. During my entire experience with Isler CPA, it was the complete opposite and I was so stressed.

      Response from the owner

Isler CPA has thousands of satisfied clients and not everyone is a good fit for our firm. We stand behind our commitment to reimburse our clients for any tax, penalty or interest which may have been incurred by our negligence. While the whole story is not reflected here, we are grateful for CPA's who are a better fit for Jimmy's budget and needs.

Joseph Lewis is an accounting ninja. I thought I was doing a good job using tax software to capture all the deductions for my small business, but he helped me see there are additional strategies to save even more. We just finished our first year with Joseph as our accountant and he saved us multiple thousands of dollars (and that's after his fees!). I highly recommend Joseph and Isler CPA!

Completely not worth the price and their communication with me throughout my filing process lacked tremendously. Will be switching to a new cpa for this upcoming year.

      Response from the owner

Haley was not a client of our office. There are 3 other separate and unaffiliated Isler offices in Oregon who may have provided her services. I'm sorry for her experience and would be happy to discuss with her further.

Extremely poor customer communication, would take legitimately weeks to get back to me! Also, extremely overpriced for the quality of service.
