  I engaged with Guidant for the process of a ROBS 401(k) formation to fund a business acquisition. Paid a substantial fee up front for the service. Everyone we dealt with was knowledgeable, professional and personable. As we moved through the education/disclosure process my spouse and I concluded that it wasn't the right vehicle for our particular situation. Guidant was just as professional when we reached that decision. We never had the slightest feeling they were trying to push a product or do anything other than act in our best interest and make sure we knew exactly what we would be signing up for. As a testament to their ethical nature, they were even prompt in issuing a (very fair) partial refund of what we had paid. Their actions and the entire engagement was a success from my perspective. We learned quickly about the pros/cons of this type of financial vehicle. They definitely are a company that knew it in detail. I had done substantial research on a ROBS 401k prior to engaging Guidant but learned so much more from them. I've never written a review for a company who's product or service I didn't ultimately buy. I feel compelled in this case because we were so well served by the engagement and education. If you're considering this type of funding vehicle I would recommend them without hesitation.

  Hands down the best lending partners in the business. Guidant works with the majority of PickUp USA's franchise partners, and their success rate in obtaining financing for our club owners is beyond impressive. Their customer service, industry knowledge, and network of lenders/banks makes Guidant the go-to source for small business owners to obtain financing for their business.

You calmly listened to our call for help, provided us with detailed explanations and instructions on how to move forward with our reporting. Your explanation of the Guidant process was detailed enough for us to understand and to appreciate it's complexities. Most important was your follow up and communication of the status of progress being made. This really put us at ease, gave us confidence, and resulted in our 5500 submission being on time.   Guidant took very good care of me at the first. Once they had me it turned into a nightmare. Value added for my monthly "record keeping/administration fee" is worth maybe one monthly charge. When you have a question it is almost impossible to get a hold of a live person. You can leave a message, but if they call you back it may be a week later. Then when it comes to filing the information for the annual form 5500, the online system has never worked once in the years I've filed. It ends up locking me out and I have to complete the process over the phone (good luck) and emailing documents. I can honestly say that one of the most frustrating parts of running my business is dealing with Guadant Financial. I would never recommend anyone use their services. Brent Mullins.   I recently had a minor issue with Guidant, but it was resolved to my complete satisfaction. Overall, I am very happy with the service they provide during the 17 years that my company has been a client.

  I am actually giving Guidant Financial zero stars. Absolutely do not use this company; you will regret it. When I signed up with them back in 2005, they seemed to know what they were doing. I never had any issues until I closed my business at the end of 2015 and began the termination of my corporation's 401k plan in early February of 2016. Here it is April of 2017 and they still have not completed the process. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and any other entity I can think of.

  I have left them 2 voice-mails regarding wanting to set up a new 401k account. Its been several weeks with no response. If this is how they handled potential new clients then I can just imagine how horrible the service is once they have ones business. Thanks for not calling me back, and saving me headaches. I will be taking my business somewhere else.

  A great concept. Remember when you do business with a company that provides ROBS services, that they literally hold your future in their hands. If they do as they are supposed to, things are great. However, if they do not, it could lead to complete and total financial ruin and take out your life's work, retirement, and business in one fell swoop. I think a little inter-office training about the gravity of the services that they provide, on a regular basis, would make Guidant a better company.
