An honest review of Holiday Builders. Tina, Paul and Rick were great to work with. A shout out to Mida for getting us moved in so quickly! Yes, there were some hiccups along the way but it happens. Holiday Builders ended up making our home even better with the step down garage (lower sloped driveway) due to the hiccups. Our cabinets took 5 months to come in which significantly delayed our home. If Holiday could have adapted faster to other suppliers we could have been in sooner. It ended up costing us 30K more for our pool due to this delay and material increases on our pool. Sooo...I have 30K cabinets now. But it was worth it in the end. Holiday honored their contract with us in an ever increasing cost environment and I respect that! We feel we selected the builder that had the best value and it turned out to be the correct decision. They did an excellent job and we are very happy with our new home! They are an employee owned company and treat veterans very well. Thank you so much! Thanks for everything Holiday Builders and we hope to work with you again soon when our family members decide to move to Cape Coral.

      Response from the owner

Mr. Doyle: We can't thank you enough for your review. You clearly articulate the challenges in homebuilding in today's environment. We hope your review will help others who are considering building, or in the process of building. But mostly, we appreciate your choosing Holiday Builders to build your new home. And you're right - we love our veterans. Thank you for your purchase, and thank you for your service. May you have many years of joy in your new home.

Well this month marks the 1 year anniversary of signing to get our house built. We were originally given a "long" estimated completion date of late October. It is now February and we still do not have a completion or closing date. We understand delays and issues because of covid and materials/labor being hard to come by but this is absolutely ridiculous. We have accumulated thousands of dollars in additional costs due to delays because of being on a month to month lease and the significant increase in interest rates over the last year. I personally would not recommend Holiday Builders at this time. Our construction managers have been responsive and understanding but that is about the only nice thing I have to say at this point in time. However it feels as if we are being encouraged to back out of our contact so that our house can be sold for more money. It would have been nice to have more honesty up front that they were experiencing delays this bad. We would have signed another lease.

      Response from the owner

Mrs. Williams, We understand your frustration. Our goal is to build and close homes as quickly as possible. In your case, the cabinets are delayed. We are happy to hear that your construction manager is keeping updated. We will continue to reach out to you, even if we don’t have the news you are hoping to hear. We look forward to completing your new home as quickly as possible. Thank you for choosing Holiday Builders.

If I could give Holiday Builders 0 stars I would. I signed my contract with Holiday Builders around 11/23/2020. From there my nightmare started instead of being excited to be a first time home owner, we are miserable, angry and upset that it is taking this long. The lot sat uncleared from November 2020 to July 31,2021. Land was cleared then. From there it was no movement again. We’ve finally made it to what should have 30-45 days from closing and again no movement. Last update was not an update. My credit has been ran a second time with holiday builder in April 2022, paid appraisals and doing everything in my part to make sure financially that the delays are not my part. This is very unorganized as the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand doing. All the while the appraisal was completed before the build completed. Still no closing date in sight. This has been the process all the way through. We are on our second construction manager. Currently have no where to reside and we have to now move again for the THIRD time during this process because of how long this bid taking. There is no help from Holiday Builder, no price cut or upgrades offered due to the delays of the builder. All we want and need is our home to be completed so that I can bring stability back to the lives of especially my son who battles mental health issues and rely on stability to function properly. If I knew purchasing through Holiday Builder would take this long we would have chosen a different builder because I know how important stability is for my every day life to function properly. I am tired of hearing COVID is the reason as I am watching 5 or so houses around my home by different builders have started 3 months ago with the build and PAST OUR PROGRESS. Things that holiday builder say they can’t complete until the driveway has been poured, I see the other builders are tackling those things. Definitely an issue where Holiday took on too many homes, low employee retention or very unorganized when it comes to ordering materials and scheduling the work. I will update after closing whenever that comes

Great Experience so far! I also work in the construction industry and have first hand experience with the hardships in sourcing materials and scheduling in these unique times. I am very pleased and impressed with their communication and timeliness thus far. My slab was poured yesterday, as scheduled. Block is on site and they are already about to put up exterior walls. Lou was very knowledgeable and helpful in the shopping/purchasing process. Joe is very responsive regarding status updates on the work completed and what is to come. FBC (their recommended mortgage lender) has been very responsive and easy to work with so far. I am looking forward to completion of my home and foresee the rest of the construction process to continue smoothly.

      Response from the owner

Mr. Peterson: We are so pleased you've chosen Holiday Builders to build your new home and appreciate your five-star review. We are fortunate to have Lou and Joe on our team and FBC is a great lending partner. We so appreciate your sharing your experience. Thank you.

I have been waiting to write this review since shortly after I signed my contract. Our home took 1.5 years to build and if you are looking for a great experience as a first time homebuyer with a builder who provides quality, communication, and assuarnce. This is NOT the company to use… my problems began the day I went to view their models and availability. I was given a lot sheet that had pricing. My realtor and I specifically asked if the lots thats said $0 were included, the sales rep I think her name was Gina advised that they were. We chose the highland model, sat down to sign, gave the address of the lot we chose and were told it would be an additional 40k as lots were not included. Both my realtor and I verified that they were with the sales rep. Apparently the rep was new and gave out their internal sheet. The price with the lot was almost 100k off budget from what was originally discussed. They came out with another model with lot included to try and get us to sign. We chose to sign only because at the time they advised us it would take approximately a year to build which lined up perfect with our lease and the model the presented worked fine for our family and was within our budget. It took almost 6 months for them to even pour slab to begin the home and that’s when the real problems started. During the construction process I had FOUR different construction managers over the course of a year and a half. I totally get it’s hard to keep employees etc but this was a little much especially since none of them communicated with their successor. Our biggest problem was with permitting specifically, as a homeowner I shouldn’t be doing holidays job and yet for MONTHS, I went unpaid to do their work. I advised them my well permit would expire on 3/14/22 on March 11th. My construction manager assured me corporate would get it taken care of. Well closing time came and guess why we couldn’t close? That permit was never pulled again. They proceeded to tell me it would be WEEKS as the county was backed up and city. I busted my tail and called many people I knew and was able to finally have our permits pushed through with ZERO help from Holiday. We failed COUNTLESS inspections. My credit was ran more than 9 times during the home building process, my rate lock fees were outrageous as I had to extend THREE different times due to their failures and neglect. And they had the audacity to tell me they wouldn’t cover the rate lock fees. I SCREAMED and begged for a supervisor or manager sooo many times it’s not even funny over the 1.5 years, finally 2 days before closing a supervisor called and agreed to get them to cover the rate locks for us and discuss all the problems I had during the process. This was a terrible process, painful, emotional and upsetting.

      Response from the owner

Ms. Shelton: Reading your review was difficult as we know that you endured a challenging build compounded by delays and rising interest rates. We are sorry for the misinformation you were given at the start of the process. We are aware that did not help your confidence level with our company. We continually strive to improve our processes, including our communication. Third party inspections are a check to ensure all work is performed to code. All inspections must pass to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy. We are glad your home is complete and you have closed. We wish this had been a better experience for you. We thank you for choosing Holiday Builders and wish you many happy years in your new home.

IF I COULD GIVE A MINUS 5 I WOULD. W e had our home built and completed in April 2020. Since then we had the flooring replaced 2 times . Found out the flooring was defective but they tried to blame it on us. Now the 3rd floor is doing the same thing and they are refusing, along with the flooring company. To replace it, saying it's normal wear and tear. We've only lived in the house less than 1 year antd it is still under warranty. I guess it's lawyer time. Do not do business with this company.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I was really thinking on hiring them for my new home construction because my family hired their services back on 2021 for their first time home, but unfortunately they went with the worst construction company they found. My family was firstly told that the house would be ready 6 months after signing the contract and making the deposit. It never happened (by December 2021- January 2022) in November, My family got a call from them saying that they were not ready to start building their house due to constructers and materials shortage. Then they said they would let us know( it never happened) On February, they got an email that the house price had increased by $35,000. They accepted hoping to be able to move in soon, but opposite to that they received another call last week that they still unable to start building their house and my family was NOT in the April new building list. In conclusion, almost a year after signing the contract, their still waiting for those people to start building their home. All my family keep getting from those people are excuses and at this point they don’t even know when they going to start working on their house. The worst experience ever…

      Response from the owner

Ms. Sanchez, We research each review we receive in order to respond accurately. Your review doesn't indicate if you have spoken with anyone from Holiday Builders as part of your consideration of building a home with us. While we can appreciate your sharing concerns over your family's experience with our company, we can only respond here with generalities. Please ask your family members building with us, to reach out to us directly. Their New Home Consultant can provide up-to-date information on the status of their build. We are happy to have a member of our management team reach out as well. Material shortages and delays, and lack of staffing at municipalities are affecting many builds. In fact, we've opted to temporarily stop sales in some areas to focus exclusively on building homes in our existing pipeline. It is in the customer's best interest and our best interest, to get homes built and closed in a timely manner. In this building climate, that time has extended requiring both homeowner and builder, to pivot norms to navigate the process.

If I could put zero stars, I would. My husband and I decided on Holiday Builders mostly due to the fact that we were promised a high level of communication throughout the entire building process. There were many builders with comparable houses and prices, but the promises of communication set them apart. All of those promises were lies and it has been nothing but lies since we signed the papers. We signed paperwork 13 months ago. At that time we were told that their build time was about 8 months but at that time it was closer to six months. Our house is at least a month away from completion without any complications, which I highly doubt seeing how things have gone thus far. No one told us that things were being delayed, we received no communication for months. We were told we would have weekly meetings with the construction manager and the sales person, that has never happened once. We had a slab and concrete blocks up before we even had a construction manager assigned to our house, or so we were told, and it was weeks, if not a month, before were actually able to talk to him. I understand that delays happen, especially from Covid, but the lack of communication on those delays is completely unacceptable. Especially when your whole business model is centered around open and frequent communication between all parties involved. There is a delay with almost every step and it is always blamed on someone else. No one will ever take responsibility. We have watched houses that were started after ours be finished and have people move in while ours just sits. There have been multiple times where zero things are done for weeks or even a month. We have caught the company in multiple lies so now it is hard to believe anything they say. It really feels like they are treating us poorly on purpose in hopes that we will cancel our contract and they can sell our house for a higher price. We are paying a ridiculous amount in rent because we had to go month-to-month due to the constantly changing completion date of this house. Does Holiday care? Of course not! They care about making money, not about the customers. If people get screwed, that's their problem. We have 4 small children and are in the process of adopting from foster care. These ridiculous delays have halted our adoption process and made it impossible for us to move any further with it until our house is completed. We started packing months ago after being told completion dates that have now come and gone so we are living out of boxes, which is hard regardless, but with 4 kids ages 7-2, it is just insane. DO NOT USE HOLIDAY BUILDERS! You will deeply regret it.

      Response from the owner

Ms. Addison: We are sorry to hear that you feel communication regarding your build is lacking. We have researched your concerns. We have experienced delays in receiving windows and cabinets for your home (for all homes). It is a very frustrating time. We appreciate your patience and look forward to a successful completion and closing.

I had my pre-construction meeting seven months ago and the slab was poured on time but that is all that has occured on time. The windows took three months and I was told everything needed to wait until they were installed. Windows were finally installed two weeks ago and insulation was supposed to go in last Friday but never happened. I see multiple new homes on my daily commute, many of which started well after my slab was poured, and they have already surpassed my home's current status. I am tired of hearing everything blamed on the supply chain when to my eyes every other builder is having very little issue getting what is needed to complete the job. The website that they use for homeowners to track the progress is useless and the employees will tell you themselves it is a bad system. It gets more and more difficult to recommend Holiday to those who ask. My next complaint will be to the Better Business Bureau.

      Response from the owner

Mr. Montag: We understand your frustrations caused by material delays. The completion of your home is our top priority. We are not the only builder dealing with these issues. That said, it doesn't alleviate your concerns or ours. Your Construction Manager and New Home Consultant will continue to provide you with updates, even when we are unable to deliver news we'd all like to hear. Thank you for choosing Holiday Builders.

Currently having the Charleston floor plan built. Our house should have been completed in November, (but that couldn’t happen because the slab wasn’t poured until October 22) then we were told sometime in December. Here we are in April and the house is STILL not complete. All we seem to get is excuse after excuse. We were told we would have the CO last week, then that was changed to this week...well the latest update is should be in the next two weeks. I’m frustrated, fed up, and angry. I feel that this builder has overextended themselves and has too many projects going at the same time. There have been WEEKS when absolutely nothing has been done at the house. With no good reason. There are so many issues. Signed...Extremely Fed Up Update on the house… We closed the end of April. Still dealing with issues. Most importantly the cracked window. This was known during construction. Had a local Holiday contact that was dealing with our punch out list. He is now unresponsive to my messages. I have submitted FOUR warranty claims and have received NO response. There was an attempt to repair/replace the window in August. They came with the wrong size. Stated that they would need to reschedule. Zero contact since then. Hopefully I will hear from someone soon as I have left a voicemail and another warranty request today. If not, maybe the media can help. Beyond Frustrated

      Response from the owner

Mrs. Goble: Unfortunately, due to the unprecedented demand for homes and materials, Holiday Builders, like other builders, is experiencing delays with both labor, material, theft, municipal approvals, public utilities, and inspections. We are working hard to move as quickly as possible on all our homes and we have taken steps to limit sales in an effort to better serve our customers. We sincerely apologize for any delays on your new home and we look forward to your closing. We very much appreciate your business.
