Process for loans is disappointing. I applied through the app, got a message that I was approved, and then had to call and talk with a rep who then told me I was not approved. I’m not complaining about the approval or disapproval, I am noting that the process is bad. First of all, it’s 2022 and everything should be able to be done online and not have to have a phone call. Second, it’s weird and invasive to have a phone rep read your credit report to you over the phone. I know credit is checked at the time of a loan. I know what’s on my credit report. I do not need someone to read it to me. Third, the app should NOT be telling people they are approved, only to turn around and be told verbally that you are not. Why is it not consistent? I have multiple other WPCU accounts in good standing and yet this experience was so insulting that it makes me want to find a new bank. Nothing like the app getting its information wrong and then having to be humiliated by a phone rep. The app should have provided the correct decision in the first place and the reps should offer the choice of reading through the credit report or not. The computer should be able to give the correct info about the decision and the reps should not need to be that far into personal information. Again, it’s 2022. Technology is available for this. Other things missing from the app/website: live chat! There is an email/send a message feature and literally every response tells you to call them. I don’t want to call! That’s why I sent a message! Live chat is a basic service that should be offered for EVERYTHING. Two stars only because I have had some friendly service, but overall do not recommend.

Extremely disappointing experience. They force you to do all basic transactions through a video-linked automatic teller. They don't even have $10 bills on site. If you want face to face service in a community banking setting, you won't find it here. I've been a customer for ten years and while the Beavercreek branches are fine, the Columbus area ones are absolute garbage. WPCU used to focus on excellent levels of service, now all they want to do is automate everything so they can expand. Still having the same issues 4 years after I first reported it. They also get real nervous if you try to withdrawal more than tiny amounts of cash.

      Response from the owner

Hi Dennis. First and foremost, thank you for choosing to be a WPCU member for the past ten years. In regards to our Columbus Member Centers, yes, we do utilize the Personal Teller Machines (PTM) in lieu of traditional teller's for basic transactions. The intention of this is to provider faster service to our members, not to eliminate the personal face-to-face interaction. As you'll see on the PTM transactions, you're connected with live WPCU employees that are working here at our corporate office in Beavercreek. If there is anything you and other members need assistance with beyond making a basic transaction, each location has WPCU partner-employees there to assist. In regards to the $10 bills, you're correct, the PTMs don't hold them and we are very sorry for the inconvenience. We're do appreciate that you pointed this out and will take note of it in regards to things we could improve for our members. If $10 bills are something you frequently like to receive we recommend letting the manager of the member center know this so they can keep track of that feedback. We want to truly thank you for your feedback and for choosing to be a member of WPCU. Have a great day Dennis!

My family and I have been customers of Wright Patt for a very long time and we recommend them to everyone! Specifically at this location I have had the pleasure of working with Joyce Meyers who is an absolute JOY! She is quick to respond, friendly and always helps me out. If you go here, ask for Joyce. She’s the best!

We were super excited to start banking with this Credit Union. I was going switch my business accounts and personal accounts. After reaching back out to our original contact, Hanna Anderson, for the past 4 weeks while leaving a few messages and not getting a call back is very dissapointing. Not sure how else to set up an appointment. I guess they dont want or need any more business?

My husband and I have an auto loan with Wight Patt. When we lost that car in a fire last week, I had to file a gap claim. Well the Gap insurance requested a large amount of documentation. Some of which I had to get directly front the lien holder. We stopped in at the 3rd St location while running errands in Columbus. Frank helps us out. He was very friendly and patient and made sure we had everything we needed before we left. The technology there is above and beyond most other banks. It was a good experience.

Bad loan experience. It could be more the appraisal company they've aligned themselves with, but I feel like it reflects on the bank. Was working on a refinance project or home equity line, got what we felt was a very bad appraisal. Went back and forth with the person who oversees the mortgages about the company they hired. Didn't feel like we got a shot at a fair appraisal. My thoughts were it should have been redone as there were several issues with the appeal process and measurement, but we weren't supported in either. This would be a one-star review, but everyone we dealt with at the branch was helpful.

      Response from the owner

Hi Andy, we apologize for the experience you received. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. If you could please send an email to [email protected] and we can see if there are any further options for your loan.

Pretty Terrible Online Banking Experience compared to my the CU I’ve banked with for 30 years in Toledo. The “Live Teller Experience” is considerably Annoying as there is only a ~%4 chance you won’t wait for 5-10 minutes. The Employees Working the Middle Kiosk can’t really do anything helpful (Example- They won’t lookup online banking username/password!). I gave it 2 stars because I can transfer money to other CUs at the Kiosk. However, this feature is unavailable with their online banking. Advice- Go to a different Credit Union or PNC.

Alec and Carissa, the dream team! Carissa and I worked together on a large three-account inquiry which she miraculously turned into a reality. When we brought in Alec he stepped right up and helped us complete the final steps. Both of them treated my wife and I with the utmost respect and provided clear and concise communication all along the way. We couldn't be happier with the outcome, thank you Alec and Carissa!!

      Response from the owner

Thank you Tony for the 5-star review and thank you for your membership!
