Woodforest National Bank Reviews

Craig S5This is regarding the Woodforest Bank in Walmart, Danville, VA. My mother passed away last week and in order to close her account I was told that I had to qualify as Executor on her estate at the local courthouse. There was less about $3000 on her account and I needed the money to help with funeral costs. I went to the court and the lady there told me that I could qualify as Administrator since there was not a will. She prepared all of the necessary paper work and I paid a fee for 2 “Letters of Qualification” It even had a raised state seal on them and was even under a bond. When I went back to Woodforest with these letters I was told by a lady named Joyce that that wasn’t the right thing. I needed a “letter of testamentary”. I called the lady at the court and told her that was what I needed and she informed me that it was the same thing. Different states call them different things, but assured me I had the right document to close this account. I asked her if she would speak to the lady at the bank and explain that to her and she would have, but Joyce refused to talk to her. Just an hour ago I spoke to an attorney friend and he verified that indeed a letter of qualification was what I needed. Someone in management needs to educate bank employees and also train their employees not to be so rude.

emoon1Woodforest ATM took $200 out of my account and then I had to go through hell to get it back, even when I had the ATM receipts showing their was an error with the machine and no money was dispensed. If you want to use Woodforest...Think Again.

Desairee Storm Matherly2Online banking is a plus but they have ABSOLUTELY NO ATM EXCEPT IN WALMART. And charge you $3.00 on top of the atm fee if you use others atm.
