Webster First Federal Credit Union Reviews

Mladen Milosevic1Had a horrible experience today. They basically kicked me out and treated me as a criminal. But let me start from the beginning. We are traveling overseas and needed to withdraw money; unfortunately my credit union doesn't have a branch in MA, so I went to Webster as a co-op. If you ever withdraw from co-op, you probably know most credit unions have a daily limit for people from co-op credit unions. For that reason Webster was the third CU I was going today. While the first two credit unions just verified my info, balance, and gave me funds, Webster was quite different. They basically kicked me out because I was going to other co-ops before!? Both the teller and supervisor "were not comfortable dealing with me". I was trying to explain, but they wouldn't listen and told me they cannot assist me, basically asking me to leave. I asked them to call my credit union since my credit union suggested that I go to multiple coops as a workaround for the limits, but people from Webster just refused and kicked me out.
Response from the ownerMladen, we're sorry to hear about your frustration. We'll pass along your comments to our management team for review.

Ian Cannon5I’ve been with Webster First Federal Credit Union since May 2021, when Pride Hyundai’s Finance Office arranged my car loan with them. I recently financed another vehicle and opened a checking account. I love credit unions because they are member-owned and not-for-profit. They have the best, lowest rates. They treat me like a human instead of someone from whom to make money. I’ve been with credit unions for over 40 years using services including; line of credit, mortgages, car loans, checking and savings accounts. Webster has “shared branches” which allows me to deposit and transfer funds with my long-time California-based credit Union. Also CUs in this network have use of ATMs in 7-11 stores with no fees!
Response from the ownerThanks for your 5 star review and your membership, Ian!

Alex Brito (Lex)2This place can easily be a great branch but the personnel are questionable . I always have problems making transactions with DCU , whether it’s getting balance , ID for a deposit , or just overall friendliness and ease for me the user . Now with Covid they are requiring you to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status . Yet every time I walk in the branch manager Bruce Torrey is on his computer doing nothing , and never has had a mask on ! The double standard here is out the window . There have been times where I just drove 30 minutes to the nearest DCU instead of going five minutes down the road to make a deposit .
Response from the ownerAlex, we're sorry to hear your experience hasn't matched the award-winning service we pride ourselves on. We'll be forwarding your feedback to our management team for review.

Hey Lar1Awful awful experience. I have a car loan thru a "sister" bank in CA and have been making my monthly car payment at this exact location since 2016. Last Saturday, I visited the branch, just like I have for over 4 years and was turned away because I was not a member. The lady (she must be the head teller because she tried being bossy with me) said members only and did not care to hear that I have been depositing my money at this branch for years. This is the same woman that would not let me make a car payment at the drive thru window because I needed to come in and sign! Huh?!?!?! Sign what? What an inconvenience. Thank GOD I do not bank with these people. Anyway - I contacted the bank I have my loan with and explained to them what happened. Hopefully little Ms. Bossy will undergo some customer service training. By the way, I was forced to select one star.
Response from the ownerDue to the recent rise in positive COVID-19 cases, we made the tough decision to close our lobbies to the public November 27 - December 12. This decision was made with the health and safety of our employees and members in mind. During this time, we are only accepting lobby appointments from our members to minimize exposure to all as much as possible. Unfortunately, we are unable to process Shared Branching transactions for non-members via our drive-up, although our ATM is fully available as usual. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding as we work to promote the health and safety of our employees and the public as much as possible during these unprecedented times.

Judith Mccarthy3I have been with them for a very long time but they since they merged with Webster nothing but problems. Constant turn over of help. Most tellers are nice, however , one in particular can be rude as can be. I am extremely upset with the closure of the Cliftondale branch. Some of us are walkers for various reasons. The the Main St. Office is useless to me.i probably. No i will be changing banking facilities as soon as I am able. I will say when call the second time. on Monday I got a very helpful person wherever she was. Hiwever the first call the gentleman , if that is what you call him, was not helpful. I can no longer walk in and get printputs to keep track. I do not bank by computer. I hate electronic transfers. I have had several bad incidences with this and one took months to straighten out. So what good are you to me now? I think you will loose a of business .
Response from the ownerHi Judith, we're sorry to hear your disappointment with our recent branch closure and interactions with some of our team members. We do offer shared branching via the CO-OP Network, so there may be a location more suitable to your needs that we can accommodate you at. We'd love a chance to discuss your experiences further and continue to serve you. Please call us at (800) 962-4452 and we can get started.

Tracy MacDonald1Wrong phone number listed in Google, call center associated with this branch, but not at this branch very rude, even supervisors that talk over you while you are talking and have preconceived notions of why you are speaking to them when you didn't even tell the representative why. I went in 3 weeks ago to sign paperwork on authorized charges that have been returned very quickly the last time this happened over a year ago, this time it's taking very long and I don't know why. I am closing my account and switching banks. Not good at all.
Response from the ownerTracy, we're forwarding your feedback to our management team for review.

benghazy 01I wish I can give them no Stars. This people are a waste of time. They made me go get paper work for 3 days also 3 days out of work trying to finished up a loan that was already approved so they can tell you after that they couldn't move forward with it. They will treat you like you are worth nothing. They should not be playing with peoples time and emotions.
Response from the ownerErickson, we're sorry to hear you had a less than stellar experience. We always strive to provide the best service, and would love a chance to speak more with you about this. Please feel free to contact us at (800) 962-4452 so we can get started.
