WaFd Bank Reviews

Allison Harris1i’m posting this review at every outlet i can find. i’ll shout it from the top of the tallest building if it means that people stop using this joke of a bank. if i could give 0 stars i would. this is the worst bank i’ve ever had the displeasure of using. i only had an account here because i used to work here, never would i choose this bank on my own. from the worst app i’ve ever experienced with its constant crashes to the downright rude customer service center, i genuinely don’t know why people choose this bank. the icing on the cake was when my debit card expired and they failed to send me a new one. when i took time out of my day to go to the branch in person and get a card ordered because i have bills to pay and groceries to buy, i was told it’d be a 2-3 week wait for my card because i recently changed my address. when asked if they could rush it because they were supposed to send me one already when the old one expired, i was told a rush isn’t possible, even though its 1000% the bank’s fault i don’t have a card. THEN one week later my husband’s debit card stops working out of nowhere. multiple calls to C3 and in the end no one had any idea why his card isn't working, with three separate supervisors assuring us “it should be working now.” their solution was to tell us to drive 3 hours to Moses Lake to get a debit card issued instantly on monday morning. except with no debit cards, how exactly would we pay for gas to drive 3 hours to fix a problem that the bank created in the first place? this bank is an embarrassment and it’s no wonder branches are closing left and right.

Gauge1What happened to being able to get a new card printed when you come in? Now I have to wait nearly two weeks?! I have bills I have to pay, also no one bothered telling me that I could’ve paid $40 to get my card sooner, I had to find that out by calling customer service. Very frustrating and a huge waste of my time!!

thomas banker5I can wholeheartedly say that during our families career we have probably dealt with no less than 8 to 10 banks. Whether it be mortgages, 2nd home refi, cars, you name it. This bank and its staff is easily the best we have ever dealt with. The manager at this location, Tina is the most amazing blend of professional, kind, and courteous I have ever seen. Moreover let me say it is unbelievable to have found a bank that every time you call an actual human being picks up and they pick up after 1 or 2 rings. And when they say they're going to get back to you on a matter you are dealing with....it happens in hours not days. Again this bank and its management staff have the highest level of praise I could possibly give!

Chuck Booten5Tina was fantastic! I have difficult finances and yet she gave me a chance, listened to what I had to say and went above and beyond for me. I can't say enough about how great she was to work with. She did what she said she would when she said she would, no false promises and no wasting time. I will be using WaFd the next time I need financing, no question at all Chuck

David Simpson2The staff in this branch ARE great, friendly nice, work hard to make sure everyone is happy. But the bank itself I would not recommend to my enemy. I called and told the bank that there was unauthorized charges on my account (something I didn't do it approve) so I started the process to get the charges reversed, after I filled out some paper work my nephew had to have open heart surgery (his heart wasn't pumping blood to his arms and legs) so since he is only 3 they said it would be very dangerous so I went to Texas to be with my family, when I came back to see how the claim was going, the bank had to retype the claim so I needed to resign everything, so the teller calls and the person said "there isn't anything we can do" I say thank you because the teller said he will keep trying. But I went to the store and call the head office the guy that answered told me "You shouldn't have went to Texas, that sounds like a you problem why we can't help you" so that's $900.00 that was in my bank account just gone and the bank isn't going to do anything to help me......stay away from Washington federal, the people in this bank are great but it's bank itself will SCREW YOU

Nicola Payette2Let me tell you how they, "helped," me deal with my late father's estate. I went in first thing in the morning and told a kid with a rediculously large ear ring and no name tag that I needed to close my deceased father's accounts. He asked me if I had X,Y and Z paper work. I told him: No, I was told I only needed the death certificate and an ID, please check the account. He pretended to and then told me, "nope you need X, Y and Z paperwork, go to the courthouse and come back." I drove 20 minutes to the courthouse, wasted half an hour there and almost $40 getting said paperwork just to find out from their call center I was on a wild goose chase; since I was obviously a named beneficiary I did, in fact, only need the death certificate and an ID. Drove 20 minutes back, demanded he check the file, for real this time, and almost 2 hours after I walked in the first time we had everything resolved. Properly. Thank you, kid with a large earing and no name tag, for making something already emotionally draining and stressful almost as aweful as the actual passing of my father. Not impressed.

JULIUS P MORGAN4I communicated with WAFED online and found the online event fine. But I would like to know would you appreciate more clients if you offered your accounts to clients not in your bank regions
