  I loved my first time home-buying experience with Utah Independent Mortgage! I received my Pre-Approval from Nelson on 8/12 and closed on my house and got my keys today 9/13! Talk about a fast process! All of the hard work from Lori, Kerrie, Nicole, Nelson and Shelby made my first mortgage an incredibly smooth experience. I even got a box of moving supplies and snacks mailed to my current residence to provide me some relief while I am moving into my new house this week. Without a doubt, I will be recommending Utah Independent Mortgage to Family, Friends and anyone who will listen that is interested in a mortgage transaction.   Nelson Barss was the worst mortgage experience of my life. Rather than get me an equity line of credit he refinanced my loan first telling me everything would be okay and then we didn't have enough to do the equity line of credit so he got his four grand or whatever it was for the refi and and I got nothing. I actually ended up having to sell the house. It was just terrible. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

  Hi cBlock, I just left you a voicemail. I'd love to discuss your experience. It has been 2 years since this refinance, and it was not our first loan for you, so I'm sad to learn you feel this way. The refinance didn't work out like you or I had hoped due to a low appraisal, but we still managed to reduce interest rate and payment significantly with the refinance. At the time of closing I felt you were happy and the savings justified the costs, or I would have encouraged your to cancel.

  Nelson and his awesome team did it once again! Just over a year ago they helped us get the mortgage on our home, we had a great experience with them so when we decided to refinance we gave them another call. The experience this time was the same as the first. Friendly, professional, transparent, thorough, and their communication is unrivaled.   Nelson, Lori, and their team were fantastic. This is the 2nd time we have used them. We bought our first home 6 years ago & came back to them again. We have been actively looking for a house for 5 months. Nelson was always quick to respond (even when he was in the hospital!) And be ready to help us. They worked magic and got our closing done in 21 days and made the process so easy. There was constant communication, they were always ready to answer questions, and were the best mortgage team we could have hoped for.

  Kristi Gibb and her team set the standard (and then some!) for not only customer service but a great mortgage product overall. Kristi worked with me after hours, understanding how quickly the Salt Lake Valley market moves, to help put us in a position to be competitive in a highly competitive market.   If you are shopping for a Mortgage Company this is the place. After talking with a couple of other companies I was referred to Nelson by a good friend. After meeting with Nelson in his office, We knew we were at the right place.   We could not have asked for a better experience! They were very thorough, professional with no strings attached! They were very open and transparent with their communication with us which is something we value. We were looking at trying to go through another agency but we kept getting shady answers and the runaround on everything so we went with Utah Independent Mortgage, who came highly recommended by our contractor! We were not disappointed! We will be recommending them to our friends for their home financing needs. Lastly, while having outstanding professionalism they were all so friendly and welcoming and never made you feel less than in any way.

  Kerrie and Nelson were absolutely amazing to work with. I called several offices for estimated quotes on loans and we kept the same percentage we were quoted (we've refinanced before with a change in numbers at closing-nightmare with a different company). Nelson spent time on the phone with me while getting our quote and answered all my questions and did not respond unprofessionally when I informed him I was also getting quotes elsewhere. They were able to get us the best rate, another company told us he couldn't reach what we were getting!! We were kept informed throughout the whole process and were never left guessing where our refinance was at. Everything was quick and simple and if rates were ever to get lower than where we are now I would definately go through UIM again!!

  Nelson when above and beyond to help us with the financing for our home. He was always there to answer questions and concerns. When we thought it would be impossible Nelson and his staff helped us and assured us everything would be okay. I highly recommend Nelson he will do his best to help you with the purchase of your home. Dana is also awesome she knows what she’s doing and keeps true to her word.   Nelson is awesome!! We "interviewed" several different mortgage people, and Nelson was by far the best one we talked to. He made the whole process very easy for us, which we appreciated because we were first time home buyers. Him and his team did most of the work, and kept us informed on everything. I would recommend Nelson, and UIMC, to anyone looking for mortgage help.
