  My husband and I initially were going with a big well known bank, until my lawyer (Gary Goldstein) suggested we go with a "Mom and Pop" private bank. That was the best decision we made when it came to getting a mortgage. Not only did Jack Fanning, our loan specialist go above and beyond to make it happen as soon as possible, he brought in his teammate, Elizabeth Paszkiewicz, loan processor, along to make it happen. My husband is self employed, which makes it more challenging to get a loan. The two of them together took any information, no matter what time I sent it and immediately processed it to make our mortgage go through as quickly as they could. We are a very small business and they could of easily put us on the back burner, but they didn't. My husband and I along with my boys are happily getting settled into our new home sooner then we could of with another bank thanks to Ulster Savings. I will, 100% be recommending this bank to anybody who is looking for a mortgage or any kind of loan. Thank you from the bottom of my heart❤️

  Ulster Savings Bank on Schwenk Drive is very welcoming, and provides professional and efficient services. Phyllis assisted me with an online service and with her patience and professionalism, it was resolved. Briana assisted and I cannot stress enough, on how I appreciated their assistance.   Ulster Savings is a good bank with several locations locally. They revamped their online account tools a few years ago and it is very functional. They offer Zelle, a person to person payment tool, which is a bit like Venmo.

  The team at Ulster Savings Bank on Wall Street in Uptown Kingston are always very friend, helpful and super nice. I am always greeted with a warm smile and I could not be happier with the team at Ulster Savings. Branch manager, Brianna Purdy, does a fantastic job! 5 STARS! (only because I can't give more stars)

  We banked with USB for 15 years before switching to another local bank. USB is okay, but I get the feeling they'd rather not deal with checking and savings accounts. Their online banking system is very good, but their customer service is weak. They routinely put 10-day holds on checks from firms like TIAA-CREF and Vanguard. We could get the holds shortened, but it took a long time on the phone to do it. When we traveled abroad, we would always notify them in advance, but our ATM cards still wouldn't work. We never had these problems with other banks. Their rates aren't competative, and there's never any advantage to being a long-term customer. We finally switched to another local bank that gave us a good rate on our mortgage and has friendly customer service.

  Great experiences with this bank. Local bank that contributes a lot to the community. I have been banking with Ulster Savings for 27 years. Very satisfied with customer service. Extremely helpful in answering questions and walking through all steps of mortgage lending, as well as easily managed accounts and tax preparation.

  Ulster Savings has emerged to be one of the best community banks in the country. The level of caring their team members show for customers and the community is legendary. What they have accomplished in the last two years as a bank borders on miraculous. Who else has that level of service?Their culture scores show their people love to work there and it shows in their customer service. If only every bank could be this good...

  Today I had the opportunity to be helped with my banking needs by Samantha Awand-Gortel our amazing bank manager with a complicated money transfer during a very busy period of time at the branch. She handled all the details perfectly while answering her phone and assisting her staff too. She alway has a smile and greeting for everyone who comes into the bank. She is a true professional in every sense of the word. What a valuable asset to Ulster County Bank.

  I moved up to Phoenicia 13 years ago, and soon became a customer of the Ulster Savings Bank. My husband and I love how well we are taken care of there. All the tellers are excellent, but today I want to do a shout out to Samantha Awand-Gortel. Samantha was a teller when we first met her. She has since been promoted to Branch Manager, a position she has held for a couple of years. Samantha is perhaps the most professional person I have every worked with. Smart, efficient, an excellent problem solver. And all with kindness and humanity. She serves all of those of us who bank at Ulster and also supports the staff at the bank. Recently my husband's mother died and we have been swamped with complicated banking related to the estate. During this confusing time Samantha has steadily addressed our business with (as I said before) utmost professionalism and kindness. Our community (and Ulster Savings Bank) are most fortunate to have her.
