  My husband and I are both entrepreneurs which makes it particularly challenging when either trying to refinance or get approval for a mortgage. Mike and his team are so exceptionally good with guiding us through the process, keeping us on top of all the paperwork requests and also, just keeping us assured that he can do this. We have used Mike's services three times in the past 4 years, one refinance on our home in Newport Beach, California, one mortgage for our home in Scottsdale, Arizona and the last one our new home in Huntington Beach, California. We will never use anyone else for what is a very complicated and emotional process. We trust him completely and are grateful that he was recommended to us when we were stuck at a rate 6.25% because no other broker could figure it out.

  Rates have fallen and there is a rush on the mortgage industry. I am saying this because I know that timelines have slipped and I have taken that into consideration. I was referred to Mike by another lender to refinance my property. I am self-employed so my tax returns and income can be daunting. It started off great with a couple of good conversations with Mike and putting a game plan together. That is the last positive experience I had. My main complaint is that I was left in the dark throughout the process. I was always the one initiating contact and asking how things are going and if there were any status updates. Finally, after over two months of working the file, I was told I was denied due to a couple of reasons like my LTV being over 80% (It was at 75% and told him I can buy it down to whatever is needed before we started) and my debt to income ratio was too high because of all of the write-offs from being self-employed (again this can be solved by paying down the loan which I am willing and able to do). I had an email conversation with Mike because he never answered and never called me back after I left six messages over a few day's time. We discussed going with a lower loan amount and he mentioned that would work. It has been over two weeks and they are just sending me updated documents to sign today. I let them know not to bother as I have reached out to a new lender that has been in constant communication and quoting me a rate 1.5% LOWER than what was on my updated application from Mike and his team. The new lender is guaranteeing the loan will be closed in three weeks. I have chosen to take my business elsewhere. I am a big believer in communication and I did not have a good experience working with Mike.

  I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but as you stated, rates have fallen. I expressed and communicated in the beginning that due to the surge in volume coupled with the Covid 19 work from home dynamic that turn times would be 45 days for a decision, which you validated here in your review, "I know that timelines have slipped, and I have taken that into consideration.” The loan decision was exactly on time and unfortunately was “declined” due to additional reasons which were undisclosed to me at the time of application. We are only as good as the information provided. As a service to try and work around the difficult issues that previous attempts other lenders could not solve, I suggested and communicated what would work as a solution, and it required an entire new application be put together which would require additional time. As you state and validate, the difficulty of your loan request, "I am self-employed, so my tax returns and income can be daunting," clearly indicates and requires additional time and a careful eye. In addition, if you actually listened to and left a message on my voicemail 6 times as you state (I received 0 messages), you would have known I was on a vacation with my family and would’ve been prompted to reach out to my assistants for any guidance. I can understand the frustration of being turned down twice before and the deal fatigue that can emotionally have on a prospective borrower, however my record is long and distinguished and the testimonials over 18 years speak for themselves, so I'm sorry your experience was not up to your expectations.

  The Wright Loans is the place to go if you are looking for a loan or to refinance your home. Mike helped us with our refinance and got the loan funded within 30 days. He was extremely knowledgeable and very responsive through out the process. I would highly recommend Mike and his team if you are looking for funding!

  This was my second experience in working with Mike Wright. First in buying my home and later taking equity on a refinance. Both experiences with Mike’s firm were flawless thanks to his dillagence and expertise. He turned over backwards to help me qualify for my loan. He always took my calls and showed genuine concern in getting me where I needed to be.
