  David Donaldson and the Donaldson team were amazing to deal with for the refinancing of my home. They were very responsive and it was very easy to provide them the information needed to process my loan. I always knew what the current status was of my application and this really went without a hitch. This speaks volumes considering the chaos that the world was in with COVID-19 at the time.   Last fall, while visiting my sister in St Pete, I did some house hunting. In Gulfport I’m found a charming little house and decided to buy. Living in New Hampshire created some long distance juggling.. Denny Umphries of the Donaldson Team was so very helpful in many ways.. All the paperwork got done - and on time....he explained anything I didn’t understand....helped facilitate the process, and, in my opinion best of all, he had great patience for the electronically challenged! I would recommend Denny to anyone looking for a mortgage.   My husband and I have credit ratings in the 800s, put 2/3 down and Have twice as much liquid money than we borrowed to buy our sixth house. It was two months of dealing with incompetency. I had to explain to one staff member what a family trust was. I never had problems with borrowing direct with banks on our prior Five mortgages. I am sorry I used VanDyk. Hope this advice saved some poor soul from dealing with them.

  I've been selling real estate for 20 years and this was one of the worst experiences I've had with a lender. It took them almost 2 months to close a loan that was suppose to close in a month. We had to change our closing date 4 times! Finding out the day before closing that you can't close a file when you've had the contract for over a month is unacceptable. Finally after 4 extensions to the closing date they closed. It was a lot of stress on my elderly sellers. The title company also complained about their lack of response. Buyer beware! As a listing agent I will advise my seller not to accept a pre-qualification from this lender going forward. I hate to be so negative, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time.

  Mortgage process was great but they sold my loan before my first payment was even due. I get that's the game lenders play to maximize profits and limit risk but I chose vandyk for a reason and now my money goes to some company I've never heard of. Vandyk is simply doing what the game of end-stage capitalism insists they do. Just kind of a shame.
