  I had a really bad experience with this bank. I dealt with Brian Lanning for my refinance. I have a second home in Ocean City Maryland and was looking to refinance to reduce my rate. I was not looking to take any cash out just wanted to refinance at a lower rate and reduce the years on the loan. I made it all the way to the end of the process ( two months) Brian had me scheduled to close, my wife and I took time from our busy schedules for settlement just to find out Brian scheduled us on a Friday. I made it very clear from the beginning of the loan process we are not available on Fridays. Settlement was rescheduled. The next Friday I get an email from Brian saying I needed to electronically sign some papers he sent that day ( Friday) Since I am not available on Fridays I did not see his email until Saturday. We were already scheduled to settle Wednesday the next week, that was then pushed to Thursday due to me not signing the electronic paper work needed on the Friday. Tuesday rolls around and underwriting decides they need information only my accountant would have. This is the busiest time for accountants and I would not be able to get the information in just two days. I spent time, effort and a $445.00 appraisal fee for nothing. I was so displeased with Brian and Severn Bank I lost all trust in them after more than two months and decided not to refinance with their bank. The property I was trying to refinance has over 200k equity in it I have owned it for seven years, I was only trying to borrow 190k. I also invest in real estate and deal with other banks to finance property and close deals for me. I have never been treated like Severn Bank treated me by any other banks in the area.

  This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. When another lender (who I had a long relationship with) left me questioning their ethics, I went to this team and was blown away by their customer service, transparency, and communication. Bobby Miller was incredible to work with, and he helped me out tremendously. From daily updates, status calls, and following up to see if I needed anything, he was right there with us through the entire process. Could not recommend higher!
