  Thanks Texell Credit Union for being my finance company! I have loved all you guys have offered us from checking and savings and express loans and my sons thrive account and now our new auto loan! Y’all have been great to us! Thanks for giving me a chance! Superb customer is always given at the Hewitt Tx location! Had to give them a shout out! Stay awesome Texell y’all are doing everything right!

  Poor customer service! It used to be a place that helped the customer feel like family, but now you wait forever for someone to come to the Window to help, or when they do finally appear they are of no help at all. My daughter opened a Thrive account and although she has lost her debit card múltiple times the customer service was always fantastic prior to the new management. My daughter went to get a new debit card only to be told they had to order her one and it would take up to 10 business days to be received. She waited and nothing, so she goes back to branch to try and get a new one printed and instead of them trying to help she was told "how about we close the card u lost and we will order you a new card, but you have to wait 10 days to get it. So she decided to just close her account.

  Update: we went into this branch to close out the checking account and leave the savings open. The teller working, one of only two on Saturday with a line halfway wrapped around the building at drive through was very kind and knowledgeable. She listened to us, did what we asked, and then asked if she could investigate what happened below, and said that she would call us back. Three days later, she called back and refunded us the fees ($59 total). Poor policies, but a very helpful person working at this branch. We thank her, and have revised our rating from 1 star to 3 stars accordingly. We have a car loan through Texell. That’s been fine, except for when they charged me an overdraft fee in the morning of the day that my payment was due to pull from savings to the LINKED checking account, to then pay the LINKED loan automatically. I called to ask about that, they told me I had signed up for automatic loan payment, which takes place first thing in the morning of the day the payment is due. They even told me what page of the loan agreement this tidbit was buried on. Then today, my wife reluctantly started using this account, as it would be more convenient than continuing to use our amazing Pennsylvania based credit union. She set it up to withdraw some money into PayPal and forgot to shift the money from checking to the linked savings. Because I told them to turn off the overdraft and automatic withdrawal stuff, they charged a roughly $30 OVERDRAFT FEE, again because the money was in the wrong part of the linked account. I admit that we’ve been a bit careless here, but I always thought that a credit union should be on your side or at least offer to waive a mistake the first time. Nope, not here. This particular branch also does not accept any coins at all when making a deposit. They used to allow you to drop off $5 in coins per visit and stated that they were trying to get approved for a coin sorting machine. If I wanted bank fees, I would have gone to a bank to open an account, not a credit union. They obviously don’t care about their members, just the bottom line. We will be closing this account as soon as the auto loan is paid back.

  Texell is a great place to do business with! All of my encounters with them have been pleasant, but Angel was exceptional when we financed our new-to-us vehicle through them. Everything went great and she was willing to work with us while we waited on our insurance to pay out from our previous vehicle! 5 stars all the way!

  Best credit union in Waco. Texell Credit Union is truly the Credit union of second chances. They provide you with everything you need to turn your banking history and credit history around. I highly recommend Texell Credit Union no matter what issues you might have had in the past they will give you a fresh start. To top it off the staff is so sweet and amazing. The services are speedy and never a wait time.

  Just did business with them and it was a great experience! Cody and everyone else were very professional and personable. They made you feel very welcome. I highly recommend this Texell location because of the people that work there.

  I am very hesitant to recommend this Credit Union to anyone, because Texell’s businesses practices are very shady. They treated me like a child and never provided me with any paperwork until I had signed all of my ‘car loan paperwork’. This was my mistake for not asking the Assistant Branch Manager, to allow me to read over my documents prior to signing. When I read over the documents later I saw The Assistant Branch Manager slipped in a life insurance policy that was never mentioned to me. This was very upsetting since I had already been to the location to sign papers twice before. I was tired of being treated like a child so I had to bring in my parent for the Assistant Branch Manager to take me seriously. The Assistant Branch Manager then told me it was my mistake, but they would gladly fix it. The Assistant Branch Manager had also told me I was required to open a checking and savings account for them to do a loan for me which made me uneasy but for a .99% interest rate I felt it was worth it. I had made sure to ask if there were any fees for opening any accounts which The Assistant Branch Manager told me there were none. I only realized after setting up my online access that I was charged fees. The Assistant Branch Manager also did not put in any correct information for my account, except for my name and social (thankfully!). I then had to discuss with The Assistant Branch Manager the fees that were charged to open an account while I dealt with getting her to undo the life insurance policy they had slipped in. Overall, I would recommend to any person especially any ‘kid’ in their 20s to go to a real bank that won’t charge you a fee for everything or bait-and-switch with loan contracts.

  Amazing customer service that was presented with a great attitude. Definitely not the bland dry experience I’ve had with other banks in the past. I recommend Texell to anyone who wants a great bank that is customer friendly!!
