      The absolute worst bank i have ever dealt with. They lock you out if your account once a month so you have to call to deal with their awful customer service and receive no help. Even their supervisors are not empowered enough to do anything if you miss ONE of the verification questions -- even if it's regarding an address you lived at over 30 years ago. SO glad I closed my account so I never have to think about this awful CU again.

      May 14th depositing money at the ATM in Garland and the ATM kept some cash with out making the deposit or giving the cash back. Called and reported this and was told the branch manager would reach out to me, but still waiting. This is not the fist time this has happened, ya'll need new ATM MACHINES edit:5/25 and was told by the 1800.number on 5/15 that the branch manager would reach out to me and still waiting😭 Is there a less than 1 star rating?

      They say the customer is #1; however, when I arrived at the Credit Union today (after driving 20 min.) no one was there! And they don't have a drive thru! Appointments ONLY! What? I drove back home and called to be placed on hold another 20 min!! All I needed was my Member # so I could set up online banking. After 20 min. hold, they couldn't help me over the phone to obtain my member ID!!!! The Customer is obviously not #1. I will be closing my account as soon as I can get in and doing my banking elsewhere. I have never felt so unvaluable.

      This is my 2nd posting over a $0.56 interest charge (piddley amount that does not deserve my time except for principal involved) that no one at TDECU could waive for me. I know this is a long post but I ask that you read it through to the end because I believe I have determined what the problem is with TDECU. Let me first say that everyone I talked with at TDECU was VERY professional and polite. My intent is not to get anyone in trouble. The problem, as I see it, is no one at TDECU has the authorithy to make ANY decisions that disagree with their VERY RIGID policies. There is no room to consider extenuating circumstances. Because I chose to pay my statement by check and TDECU did not receive the check (possibly lost in the mail) they could not waive the interest charge. A customer service rep at my bank, which is much larger than TDECU, made an on-the-spot decision to waive the normal $30 stop payment fee on my check without question. TDECU has an overall 2.6 rating out of a possible 4.0 because their policies are so rigid and their customer service is so bad. If you read some of those negative ratings almost all of them contain the same scripted message that customer service is very important to them. If that were true then why would their rating be so bad. Any organization that refuses to permit management personnel to make management decisions for extenuating circumstances is doomed. If you are considering membership at TDECU my experience suggests that you should seriously reconsider.

      They are good at approving you but once you are a customer, they are by far the worst in customer service. It takes 1 hour to make a payment and they send you back and forth to different departments. My account got locked and i have to go in person to a branch which they only have to and far away. They are horrible over the phone. Not to mention to verify my identity takes at least 30 minutes. If you dont need them please apply or get your loans somewhere else.

      I had a loan paid off in February 12 and they reported the loan delinquent in March 2. I called multiple times and even went into the branch in Garland was told they were taking care of it. Still a month later it's on my credit report again. Watch out with them.

      I have always loved TDECU but I have to give some amazing praise to Monica Glover. I came in today to the Garland branch to get my name changed and add my husband to my account. Monica was so personable and engaging that I didn't even realize that we had been there for over an hour. She was absolutely fantastic and I will be sure to go back to this location for as long as Monica is around. TDECU, you're doing it right and hiring the right people. Thank you as always for being so fantastic to your members.

      tried 3 weeks to get pay off statement for the auto loan, tdecu has no on line capability to print or access pay off statement, called them and they said they sent a request to a department to mail that, well, nothing happened, call ed another week, said the same thing even though they admit seeing the request. If transfer to that mysterious department, it will be on hold for hours until the office hour over. Looping over and over again. About to file a complaint to NCUA

      Good place if you bank online, less so if you need to go in, so three stars from us for Dallas branch. One of the reasons we joined was to get our kids involved with having a savings account, depositing money, etc -- building good habits. While the employees are very helpful, the location is terrible for parking, and our kids can't do anything online with their accounts because of their age. Whenever we show up on a Saturday to do something the parking lot is always overflowing (alot from the Arby's and PepBoys next to the CU). A visit to do a $10 deposit can turn into a 2 hour ordeal of waiting for a parking space to open up and then waiting inside for someone to free up. Weekdays at lunch aren't much better. Again, they are very helpful and friendly once we get to the point where we can talk to someone, but it's just not worth the hassle. We have driven over multiple times and just given up. Sadly we'll be closing our account soon and moving somewhere that is setup for face to face interactions once the COVID-19 issues let up.
