SPG CPNS3I give Sound CU a 2.5 out of 5. We have had accounts with multiple large banks, and wanted to try a small credit union who gives back to the community. After searching for weeks, we chose Sound. We have had nothing but issues with them from the start. Their online banking is slow, under-equipped, and very buggy. They have no simple, easy way of instant money transfer, their Zell e alternative is awful and not worth using. Every little thing from opening another account, to transferring funds seems to take several phone calls to resolve. Their online system feels very old and difficult to use compared to other banks. While friendly and pleasant, their staff are often un-informed and misleading. We had an offer extended to us to purchase a car through them, and in return get a $200 credit. Once we purchased the car they redacted their offer, changing the rules to say it needed to have been a larger loan. Very misleading, we could have used another bank to receive a nice car loan incentive... Issues are often not resolved quickly, especially when trying to do things online and over the phone. I have brought this to their attention, but unfortunately all they say is "sorry." Really the only positive is they don't "hoard" your money, in the sense that large banks often have high minimum account balances, Sound does not. Which means many checkings and savings can be opening without having to keep hundreds in each one, else you get penalized. This is a huge plus for us, who like to sort our money through several accounts. All in all, we probably won't switch, since it's nearly impossible to find good CUs with excellent online banking and apps. They are friendly enough to stay, and it's always such a hassle to leave a bank. Just keep in mind the communication issues.

Kaide Einander4I switched to Sound a few months ago because it is close to home. I have really enjoyed my experiences with them. All of the tellers are always kind and patient. I have both my personal and business account with them so I am there a lot. My only complaint is that I like to use the drive up window for making deposits so that they money is available right away (not the case at the ATM) but they don't seem to have a dedicated teller at that window. Instead that teller usually seems to be running both of the drive ups and an inside window which means it takes an extra long time.

Joe ennaro5Our family, daughter and grand daughter brought in a boat load of coins to count and setup new account for grand daughter. We jammed the machine twice. Very nice and friendly clearing machine and getting check to go. Always friendly and helpful business associates.

Carlee Heit5Not being a young tech savvy adult, I managed to lock myself out of my mobile account. After a very patient young lady tried to help me by phone, I went into the branch bank. Ryuta Sugiyama was extremely helpful and patient. He dealt with my hearing loss and slowness with grace and good humor! As always, I am extremely pleased with Sound C.U.!

Harlow Marie5I don't bank with Sound Credit I bank with a sister branch called Qualstar but I use Sound Credit all the time and they are so helpful, very professional and extremely nice. I need to leave stupid Qualstar and go over to Sound Credit! They've gone out of their way to help me so many times even help with reversing a check today when normally they don't do that sort of thing. All the tellers go above and beyond to satisfy their customers. Thank you so much to the manager and the Asian guy for helping me today (I'm sorry I don't remember his name)

Monse Herivel4This credit union is good but not great. Customer service is great though. They are fast, cordial and very helpful. I have two accounts one business and one personal. Never have had problems with them I would totally recommend them over any national bank.

Shirley Feeeny2AMBAUM BLVD LOCATION : Yesterday after experiencing the ATM being down AGAIN (a large out of order sign would help - to see before one gets their card out and ready to plug in the machine) I watched many seniors trudging through the calf deep slush and ice to the front door. A deplorable mess and hazard. Come on people, don't want to get your feet wet? But make your customers, did I mention seniors, go through that slippery wet mess. You should have at least cleared a path from the curb to the front door. You have very friendly tellers. But no common sense.😐
