  I’m a tattooer, so my taxes are a little more complicated than I can understand. I’ve been going to see Charles Watson for a few years and I recommend him to everyone. The entire staff is incredibly nice and professional. And sometimes one of his dogs sleeps in the office during your appointment, which may or may not be my favorite part. I’ve always felt taken care of, strongly recommend.

  Charles is awesome! He has done my taxes for years and does an excellent job! I go and it doesn't even feels like I'm getting my taxes done, it feels like I'm having a conversation with a friend! I highly recommend him! You won't be dissappointed!

  This place is a life saver when it comes to taxes. I tried to use a top accounting firm in the area when I first started my business. Every year the actual accountant for the business would ask me what I did for a business every year. Always felt like just money to them and not a quality customer. We had a friend refer us to Charles and we do not regret it. He really dove down deep into my company finances and found a way (very legal I may add) to save me thousands in taxes each year. They will do there best to save you money and be perfectly honest if they can’t. To be clear to everyone, this is a small business accounting firm. Charles works on all of the accounts he has and has had one person with him consistently named Brittany. Both of them are very good at their job. Since there are only a handful of people in the office it can take a little more time than a big firm. This is just like any small business. Just make sure you get it to them in time and everything will be done in plenty of time. I do want to give a shout out to Brittany Callaway. She has been top notch to work with. She is not one that beats around the bush. This can rub some people wrong, but for me it’s what I want from a accounting firm. I don’t care for small talk and accounting firms sucking up to me. I want them to do their job and save me money where they can and she helps make that happen. She is very direct and gets things done. She’s very much on top of things and if I had to guess I think her future is very bright in the business world. Keep up the great work Smart Accounting!!!

  Very friendly affordable accounting/tax firm. Charles was so knowledgeable and had great ideas for our business. Highly recommend this company. They have been handling all of our company accounting/tax needs for over 3 years now! Brittany is quick to handle any questions or concerns I may have.

  I'll be honest, I chose Smart Accounting Solutions because it got good Google reviews and because I wanted to hang out with a yellow lab while I had my taxes done--I love dogs but greatly dislike financial reckonings. To my pleasant surprise, even aside from the dog therapy, the whole experience was pretty painless and even kind of fun! Charles, the owner, is super nice, mellow, interesting to talk to, and competent--really, I only expect one or two out of the four in an accountant, so that surpassed my expectations. As someone with both a full-time job and independent contractor income, he suggested and will be facilitating ways to significantly save on my taxes going forward. I found the fee for his services very reasonable and definitely worth the upgrade from TurboTax. I would recommend Smart Accounting Solutions without hesitation and plan to use them again in the future.

  Excellent service by Charles and Marcela! I tried the TurboTax app but realized it wasn't giving me all the tax breaks I was eligible for. But Charles at Smart Accounting Solutions took a good look at everything and I was able to make more than twice the amount I would've gotten back from the turbotax app. Very friendly and professional service and environment at Smart. Charles definitely has my back and outdid himself. His genuine interest in helping me succeed and helping my small business thrive is something I'm very grateful for.   I am not one to write reviews, and especially negative ones, but I feel like I should share my experience since choosing a good accountant an extremely important task. Upon my initial interactions with this place, it was a positive experience. Charles was very friendly and helpful. After having a terrible experience with another local accountant, I felt a sigh of relief after meeting with Charles. In this meeting he told me they would help me with setting up some things for my business and I would hear from them in a few days. More than a few days passed, and I heard nothing from them. I called to speak with Charles, of course he was not available. After no luck with calling, I emailed them. After some time, Brittney Calloway responded and sent me forms to fill out, which were already filled out with another client’s information on it, including social security number. At this point I realized there were major red flags and I should probably just stop there. Against my better judgement, I continued with them. I met with Charles again to ask if he could file my taxes that day (it had been 2-3 months since the initial meeting and was now around 3-4 weeks before the tax deadline). He said he would and I should receive a DocuSign email that day. No emailed showed up. In fact, I had no idea whether they would file my taxes at all after more attempts at trying to get things done, so I took it upon myself to file them. The tax deadline was coming up, and I am not a last minute person. FYI, the DocuSign did show up, on tax day, at 3 pm. I never signed anything for them to file my taxes since I had already filed them at that point. Yesterday, I was having a good day and out of the blue, I get a call from someone at their office. I don’t remember her name. She was extremely rude, and basically hung up on me after I asked some questions. She said they tried to file my taxes, but I asked how when I didn’t sign any forms for them to proceed. She said she wasn’t there so didn’t know and that is when she hung up. Anyway, needless to say I will not be returning to them and frankly if I ran my business like several accountants do in this town, I would have absolutely no clients. The pandemic is not an excuse. I understand this is a difficult time for everyone, but I still treat my clients with respect and make sure they are taken care of without hesitation. I expect the same treatment to be given to me.

  Best tax experience in a very long time. I sell online as a hobby and was super confused about how to account for this in my taxes. Not only did I leave confident in this year's tax filing, but I feel better prepared for next year too! If you're looking for personable, reliable, and knowledgeable tax people, you found them.
