  Please be aware that if you apply for a deposit account (savings, checking) with Sharonview Credit Union then you will get a hard pull on your credit report. I have had my credit reports frozen for over 10 years. My credit score is good. I have no desire to apply for credit at this time, and I keep my reports frozen to prevent fraud. After applying online for a savings and checking account at Sharonview, I received a phone call from a rep in Charlotte asking me to unfreeze my credit so they can get a hard pull. This is unacceptable. There is absolutely no reason for a credit check. I am only trying to open deposit accounts. I have been using Piedmont Advantage Credit Union for over 10 years, and they are closing the Wilmington NC branch. This is the only reason I was applying at Sharonview. If they are so concerned that I am a risk, then they should use a more appropriate review of ChexSystems or another comparable company that provides information about the use of deposit accounts by consumers, not one of the three credit report companies. Good grief. UPDATE- A week after your response-no one has contacted me.

  My wife and I were with a large well known bank before we found Sharonview. We started with a HELOC and we’re so pleased how easy the process was. Then a car loan… now they are helping us finance our new home that is being built now. This has been a crazy time to be building a house with construction delays and mortgage rates going crazy, but they have been great to work with. Highly recommend Latoya Barret for mortgage loans. Very glad we made the change!

  We love Sharonview! We live in Leland so utilize the Wilmington branch. The staff is always polite and efficient. All the services/rates they offer are great. We left Suntrust and have never looked back!!!

  An absolute joke of a bank. My card can't be replaced until the investigation is complete, because I reported a fraudulent charge on my account. I leave for my honeymoon in a few days and I've to start a new f**** account so we will have a debit card on our trip. They fail to disclose this information to you when starting an account. I work during banking hours so any time I need to withdraw money I've to take time off of work due to distance from my job. Please if you've any other options don't come here. I left Bank of America for this bs.

  I started sharonview because i had so many negative experiences with banks, credit unions, etc. Sharonview helped me see what they had done wrong, but most importantly what i needed to do for things to go right. The ladies staff at all locations, kept on helping me even when i screwed up, no judgements or r e a statements, just facts. With their gentle consistant tactics, i have been able to build credit, fix credit scores, and help me no matter where i am. Sharonview Federal Credit Union is the best hands down!!!
