Marnin Joseph Romm1One star is me being nice. Terrible phone call with the manager. He was extremely rude, judgmental and abrasive. I was questioned and judged for having two ESA dogs before even being allowed to talk about the apartment I was interested in. I quote what the manager said: "I have never heard of someone having 2 ESA animals". What a judging comment. As a Doctor myself, I treat every person with respect and allow my patients to talk and ask questions before any comments made (never rude or judge mental comments). I was spoken over and not allowed to even ask questions about the apartment before having to send an email to this 'manager' about the ESA dogs. I ended the call stating 'I'm no longer interested". Why would I want to deal with such a company moving forward.

Susan Baldwin1This is the most unprofessional realty company I have ever been forced to work with. I moved to Boston in an apartment managed by Phoenix in 2019 and lived in the property until recently, but it was an absolute nightmare. They used extremely loose language in their emails that deviated from the lease resulting in me personally losing $975, and they took no responsibility for this even though I have the email receipts of them saying otherwise. When COVID-19 hit, I lost my job and explained I would be late for rent. They responded that this was unacceptable. Fortunately, I found out about Boston rent relief and began the application process. However, Phoenix refused to fill out the landlord portion, and my application was no longer able to be processed. Finally, there is no organization in their bookkeeping. An escrow account is intended to be kept under one person or per leaser, but they did not record that two of us who moved in, in 2019 paid more for our security deposit than the other roommates, but since we paid the former tenants directly there is no legal way to get the same amount of money back, therefore, we are out a portion of our security deposit and they are unwilling to pay us the correct amount despite the fact that we have the transaction receipts. I would not recommend working with them or renting any of their properties unless you are ready for the biggest headache of your life. Please like this review so more people are aware of their antics before getting stuck with them.

Rachel Silverman1We made an appointment with Troy to view an apartment in Malden. We emailed him an hour before to confirm. Despite not receiving any correspondence since making the viewing, we arrived at the unit for our appointment time. He emailed us at the time of the appointment that the apartment was rented.

Eric Cartman2Seems like 6-7 years ago they were great judging by the comments. Things seemed well until move-in. Then began the constant shirking of responsibility and maintenance. Not sure why we have to pay full price for an apartment that was supposed to be ready to move in, yet the repairs we informed them of 3 months ago (with constant follow ups) are still not done. Better than the other Boston slum lords dominating the area, but not by much. I should have known better when I saw the office being run out of a garden view apartment.

Edgar Teel5Phoenix has been managing our property for over two years now. Overall our experience has been excellent. They are fair, and have even pushed back sometimes when representing the needs of my tenants. This is a good thing, and this one reason why we hired them. When I was a renter I wish I had rented from a company like this. They're doing a great job!

Andrea Rybicki1This is the most unprofessional company that I have ever worked with. Once I signed the lease and gave them the deposit, they have stopped listening, answering questions, or respecting me in any way. Multiple times they have come into my apartment without notice, even coming into my personal bedroom while I was in bed. When issues arise in the apartment, the only way to get any help or a response is to withhold payment. Truly disappointing.

Lush Lash1It took them 1 month mid winter to fix the gas, I went 1 month without being able to eat cooked food and in the cold in the middle of early winter, Not only are they unprofessional and lack communication skills, I caught them on camera coming into my home(which is illegal) when I’m not there after I suspected them when little things started going missing like chargers and broom cereal boxes and after reading the bad reviews it all makes sense. This company is evil and sadistic and finds pleasure in making life inconvenient for people. I’m disgusted.

Kerri Gaouette1Very poor property management and customer service skills. The initial renting experience was fine - until we moved in and were no longer a priority. The property management and maintenance has been very low quality, inconsiderate, and low performing. Constant follow ups and lack of communication. Will be moving specifically to not have to work with them. They do the absolute bare minimum with little ethics. A good example of why brokerage and real estate agencies in Allston-Brighton have a bad reputation.

Tyler Hanna1Really a terrible property management business. The owner Ken Glass ignores urgent emails re: sewage flooding and rat infestation and ignores maintenance until lease turns over for new tenants…total scam that will only treat you well until you sign their lease trap

Aubrina Lane5Ken @ Phoenix Realty has been my prop mgr/agent for the past 3 years and has consistently kept me updated with what I need to know and professionally handled any other details with the tenants promptly and efficiently. My condo has been rented 100% of the time at full market value! He has been easy to work with and get a hold of; he has truly made being a landlord hassle free!
