Maroc Food1My new response to the owner: Chrissy Kiddy stated: "We have received your review and discussed this situation in detail with you directly." Your statement is inaccurate. I have not heard or spoken to anyone that was involved directly in the decision to close the accounts. No one at PeoplesBank has ever called me or asked me any questions before they closed the accounts. Your action is wrong and can never be justified, it is based on discrimination, otherwise you could have follow-up with me and you would have been able to understand that you made a mistake. Erinn young’s reason for closing the accounts was explained to me by the branch manager. I have clarified everything to her and she understood and conveyed the message to Erinn young and i am still waiting for an apology. I have filed a complaint with the FDIC. I do not want anyone to go through what i went through with peoplesbank, You made a mistake, you are aware of it and you do NOT care, that is WRONG & UNETHICAL! I am a law abiding citizen who complies with all the rules and regulations. I started a business, registered it with my state & the FDA, I have a permit from the department of marines and fisheries as well. I have submitted my certificate of organization, my operating agreement and other documents when I opened the account. I have never claimed that i will have a fish market, none of my legal documents state that i have a fish market, hence you have NO reason to close my account based on the fact that you couldn’t find a fish market in the address that you have on file. Here is the verbatim from your branch manager: "I talked to the person that closed your accounts, she stated that we sometimes do site visits and when we went to your office address, we couldn't find a wholesale fish market in that address, it is just a business front and doesn't match with wholesale fish market where someone can go and buy fish that is why we decided to close the accounts." Your decision was influenced by bigotry and racism otherwise you could have called me and asked me questions before closing the accounts. I hope that other small business owners can learn from this and open their business accounts elsewhere especially if you have an Arab name go to other banks like Greenfield Savings Bank. I completely understand that the banks are required to review accounts to make sure that there is no suspicious activity etc but Gosh! do your job right, don't close peoples accounts before knowing all the facts, you can freeze the account temporarily, deactivate the debit cards etc until you learn all the facts, then make a final and reasonable decision.

Jason Gallagher1It’s hard to be the worst bank in town with how stiff competition is, but this place takes the cake. When I started my account here I was promised no overdraft fees, which was true for about a year before they started charging me for overdraft. They closed my savings account without notice, the hours they list online and on signs are not at all accurate, and most recently I deposited a payroll check through their ATM on Friday because no one was there in spite of the supposed hours, and now I have to wait until Monday to receive my funds. Why are you even open on Saturday if you can’t process checks? Congrats People’s, you are officially the worst bank in Northampton!
