  I had a problem with a board I bought two days ago, brought it back and exchanged it for a new one with zero issues. The customer service is top notch. I drove from Duck originally to buy my board because of past experiences there almost a decade ago. I’m glad to see the service and merch hasn’t changed. Thank you so much for your help today fellas!!

  Decent selection, but despite the other reviewers saying they are very knowledgeable, they are not. At least in the context of skateboarding, they knew virtually nothing about their own selection, I wanted to get a blind deck but they said they only had 1 blind deck, that was too big. Although I did get a fairly nice Toy machine I later discovered that they charged me 10 dollars more than the normal price of the deck. After all that, I still think the shop is pretty nice, just wish they matched prices with other sellers and were knowledgeable on what they sell.

  Not being from here, We knew nothing about boarding of any kind and the man there helped our 13 year old get exactly what he needed to have some fun on the beach. He recommended a good beginner board and told him all about how he could get better and what he could eventually upgrade to. He told us about how to care for the board and helped him with his first wax at no charge. He was super helpful and friendly. It is obvious that he loves his job! Highly recommend.

  The guys working were super chill, super helpful and professional. They're very knowledgeable on their products. If you need Skateboard or surfboard products, this is the place to go! They answered all my questions and got me all fixed up in no time. Prices were good and service was great! 5 star store all the way!

  Highly recommend not doing returns at this place as the manager seems to not understand the return policy. I bought a pair of vans and wanted to exchange them within a four day period. The manager retaliated by yelling at me about sand being on the shoes which goes against the return policy with your receipt. He continued to make remarks about the shoes condition and still had the tags inside the shoe that have been worn. We will not return for business again.

  Hello Jacob, we apologize for the difficulties you experienced in the shop. We will gladly accept exchanges for store credit if they meet our posted policies. However if a product has been worn to the point that it is no longer in new condition we can not accept the exchange. Going forward we will do our best to make sure the exchange policy is as clear and easy to understand as possible for our customers. We hope you will give us an opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

  Love this shop. Just wish surf shops had a little larger sizes. I know i should just lose weight but right now just wish they had larger sizes. Lol expensive but all surf shops are. Customer service could have been a little better but it was not bad either.

  Great helpful staff! They put my wheels on for me and only over tightened the deck bolts a little too tight

  Go get yourself a Shellfish! I recently purchased my third Shellfish and couldn't be happier with the service, quality of the board and the overall experience at Outer Banks Boarding Company. This is my third and most loved Shellfish! I’m 5’8” 155lbs and got the 5’8”, 28.1 Liter board. I’m an experienced surfer and this board is ideal for waist to overhead waves. I’ve found that it catches waves much easier than expected and performs well across a wide range of surf from punchy small waves to overhead barrels.
