  Wonderful people work here! Very friendly and helpful banking staff. Got a competitive rate on a loan and staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Would highly recommend.

  HV bank was great. Northfield online is terrible. I just wasted 40 minutes on hold. First call was told that I would get an email resetting my password. Never got email. On second call (after on hold for 40 minutes)was told that I didn't sign in for three months and need to create another online acct as I'm locked out . Wasn't told on first call. Will be closing acct tomorrow.

  Since Northfield Bank acquired Hopewell Valley Community Bank, they have implemented the following: (1) reduced interest rates on money market accounts, (2) reduced hours for customers, (3) high fees on printed checks, (4) no more counter checks, (5) more mistakes, (5) less friendly staff. This acquisition has not been good for the former customers of Hopewell Valley Community Bank.

  Yes, we all miss the friendly HVCB and how personable and helpful the staff was. The main thing the Northfield Bank has going for it is their website: it is fabulous!-and you can do anything from the site if you don't want to visit the branch office.

  On every vacation, I inform Northfield. Then I try to use the card and it's blocked every time. Half the time, the bank employees are clueless on any given matter. HVCB was great, Northfield sucks.

  And that 1 star is being generous. I tried to cash a check and after half an hour I had to walk out with no cash in hand. Meanwhile they try to sell me on all sorts of accounts.

  Since Northfield took over Hopewell Valley Bank they have absolutely destroyed it. This is the worst bank I've ever delt with.

  One of the slowest banks I’ve had! I’ve been waiting on my account information for weeks now …ugh 2/10
