  I made a big mistake by choosing Holiday Builders as my builder. There are no words to describe how disappointed and angry I am. We are now at month 17 and house is still not done. They don't even know when would be finish! This is ridiculous! Originally, I was told that it will take no longer than 10 months. They are blaming COVID and shortage of materials however, that's not really the case. They submitted permits 4 months after I signed the contract instead right away. How come other builders are building faster. Nobody contacted me for months to let me know that they are experiencing delays. Looks like they are taking too many projects and can't keep up. City inspections failed multiple times on one project. There are 12 failed inspections total on my house so far and we are only half-way through. I am worrying about the quality of the house at this point. They seem very unorganized. This whole building proces is a nightmare! I am fed up with their excuses after excuses. The only good thing I can say is that Project Manager and Seller are contacting me on regular basis with the update. Each time I called Corporate Office my phone was returned in timely manner. I will update my review as time progress.

Material delays and labor shortages (including staffing shortages for inspections) have negatively affected build cycle time for all homebuilders. We have adjusted accordingly, waiting to start homes until all materials are in place and holding back new home sales while we complete homes in our pipeline.   I have had the absolute worst experience with this company. DO NOT USE!!!! First they started to build our house on the WRONG LOT (setting us back 3 months), then they dragged their feet every step of the way, the hot water heater didn't work when we moved in, gave us a salt system for our salty well water (that they didn't test beforehand) so when we shower it burns our eyes and is ruining all of our new appliances and we have been through 2 new water heaters within 4 months because of it and they now expect US to spend thousands of dollars on a reverse osmosis system because the plumbers won't replace the water heater again until the water is fixed. We also have been waiting for our garage door to be fixed (it was dented before we moved in and they promised to fix it) and every attempt I've made to get answers I've been either brushed off or ignored. Again, we've only been in our home for 4 months and it's just one issue after another and we're first time home owners. Everyone associated with this company has been extremely difficult to work with and we've been nothing but patient and forgiving. I do NOT recommend to anyone, especially if you're a first time home buyer.

  I signed a contract in April 2021. I was told at signing that the price was LOCKED in. I read in the fall that some builders were raising the prices so I reached out and received a text stating "we are not raising our prices, dont worry." Well after nearly weekly calls about the permits, I found out on my own that that the city was waiting on HB to sign a document and the permits would have been approved months before. After I mentioned this finding, I was told they would be clearing the lot by mid Feb. Conveniently, last week is when the price escalated 35K which knocked me out of my price range. I know what is going on in the world, but they shouldn't string people along, knowing that finding suitable homes or rentals 10 months later is near impossible. I am extremely disappointed in them and wouldnt recommended them to anyone. I am thankful that they did refund my deposit, yet I chuckle that on Trulia it is now listed as a "Quick Move In". 🙄

  When you were told "we are not raising our prices, don't worry" it was an accurate statement at the time it was given. In fact, February 2022 is the first time in our company's 38+ years of building homes that we have ever exercised an escalation clause. As part of that, we offered a full refund of monies and cancellation of contracts. Escalation of material costs could no longer be ignored. We wish you the best and hope you find the perfect home for your family.

  First time building a home and went the holiday builders, i advise anyone looking to build especially in the North Port area to use Zwercan or adams homes. Lied to for months stating they were waiting on permits ( permits were ready for 3 months sitting there awaiting payment ) Good luck getting honest answers And then price increase on house after a year of it sitting there and nothing being done do to material increase, which would have been more understandable if the property didn’t sit for so long with nothing being done.

  Mr. Crisafi: Material and labor delays have negatively impacted our normal cycle time - the time it takes to complete a home. The related costs created the need to increase the price of your home. Acceptance of the increase is the choice of the customer. If you do not want to proceed with the construction of your home at the increased price, we will give you a 100% refund of all monies paid. This is the first time in our 38 years of homebuilding that we have exercised an escalation clause. We appreciate your business and await your decision to proceed or terminate your contract.

  Is it common practice to not provide your contractors to do their jobs properly? I live by a house being build by Holiday Builders. I have had 2 issues with them so far. 1) when they first cleared the posts by my house, they did not mark for utilities and ended up cutting internet line and we were without internet for 3 days. I work at home. I contacted them and never heard back. So I lost 3 days of work because no internet. 2) this happened today, they were putting up the hlocks for the house and they did not have enough water to finish the job. So what do they do, they rang my doorbell and asks if they can use my water. When I told them NO they gave me an attitude. Really!!!! Please get your contrstors the proper equipment to finish thier job without asking the neighborhood for help.

  First time building a house, and definitely my last after using this company. Work performed by subcontractors is not checked for quality until the county fails them on an inspection, delaying the whole process. We had a Hvac pad that was falling apart and it did not get repaired until the county failed them on it. We have been told so many time our house would definitely be done by a date. And that date comes and goes with another failed inspection. Now we have a new construction manager because the last one got let go. Who is left to pick up the pieces. I will update if the house is ever done.

  As we are looking to Start the process to building a home, So we reached out and spoke with them as soon as we could. Miss Caroline greeted us promptly and was very Courteous throughout. She took us to see a model of the home we are looking for an answer all of our questions with confidence and poise. Were looking forward to moving ahead in the building process and I will update this review has begun further in that.

  UPDATE: They have contacted me and fixed everything that was wrong. Couldn't be happier with my new home. If you buy a home from them make sure it is perfect before you sign the papers. I've been in contact with them and I get a "I'll let you know tomorrow" response. My front door doesn't even close all the way, letting bugs in and AC out. The well outside has bursted and come apart 3 times now. I have chips in the molding and was promised painters would come and touch up some things the week of signing. Make sure everything is perfect before you sign the papers because you'll never hear from them again.

  Been waiting for almost a year JUST to get the permits and they’re STILL not done. Haven’t even broke ground yet and now we’re being told we still have another 6-8 months.. My little girls have been waiting for their new home and all we get is a run around story and excuses! No progress has been made and we get no definitive answers. It’s been a horrible horrible experience. STOP TAKING CONTRACTS YOU CANNOT FULFILL IF YOU’RE SO BACKED UP!!

  Work done fails county inspection so has to be done multiple times. Material for the house takes weeks sometimes longer to arrive so house sits with no work being done. Be prepared to wait long after your original completion date.
