  I have been banking with Ideal since they were still postal credit union. After they changed to Ideal, they have become more like a big bank and much less like a true credit union. I had my first car loan with them and a motorcycle loan with them, both with very fair rates. When I went to get financed for my second car, they tried to rip me off with the interest rate they offered me. I went to a different credit union and got a better financing deal. Also, they charge me a $5 fee when I want to withdraw a large amount of cash from my checking account. This is how they treat long time and loyal customers. Save your time and money and find a real Credit Union to invest in.

  Ideal Credit Union goes above and beyond in every situation. When they recently had an online update, their sites were down for days. Every bank goes through growing pains but I feel Ideal's people really tried their best to help us! If you are ever considering switching banks, I highly suggest Ideal Credit Union. Catherine, Joan and Mary (especially) always have a smile on their faces - Maplewood Location- and I actually love seeing them when we make our company's deposits. Great job, Ideal Credit Union. You will have our company's business forever!

  Worst banking experience ever. After banking with them for 15 years, I expect better. Take your money and run fast to any other financial institution. What a nightmare. Heartless people. I miss Postal.

  I don't trust the ATM deposit. I deposited a check on a Sunday and they claim they didn't see the deposit I made. Luckily, I printed out the deposit receipt, which I had to share with them as proof. If I didn't print it, I'd be out the money! Always print the receipt!

  I've been with this bank for almost a decade. Yes, you wait on hold for a while but it's a bank! They all make you wait on hold! Other banks have screwed my husband and I but this CU has always been there for me. Any issues that may have popped up, have been solved.

  So tired of this bank. Cant even get a hold of a live person 90% of the time or the ATM is broke. On top of it my debit card has randomly stopped working and they're giving me no choice but to come all the way in to figure it out cause I dont remember some sort of a code or password that I've NEVER been asked for before. Wouldn't give me any other options. I'll be coming in today to cancel my account.

  .... card keeps getting declined in multiple places that I frequent. Response from ideal "it's because its chip enabled..." Yes, I understand what chip enabled is, but these places don't have chip readers. Response "that's why it was declined then." So I can't use my card at the gas station? Or anywhere there isn't a chip reader? "It wont always be declined. Just some of the time." Great. Thanks ideal. Love the condescending customer service. Time for a new bank.

  Hi Beth. We're sorry to hear your card is having issues at certain stores. Your card should work at gas stations even when the store does not have a chip reader. A representative will reach out to you to look into this further.

  I've been trying to get a lien released from car that has been paid off and after several times and weeks of trying am still unable to get this done. They lie every time I call saying we'll send letter instead or blaming computer or we'll have supervisor call, but nothing happens. I can't trade car in or sell it because of this lien. Very frustrating and I would think illegal. They also sent a bunch of check cards in from different peoples accounts and when I called about that they lied and said we'll have supervisor call, they never did. Credit unions are a good thing for most, but not this one.

  Ko Xiong's help during our home buying process was awesome. He was so helpful, kind, patient and knowledgeable with everything. I can definitely be a bother sometimes when I am making important life decisions such as purchasing a home. I have a need to learn as much as I can and do as much research as I have time for. This often means having about a million questions at any time while trying to figure everything out. I must have emailed Ko with a single question at a time 20 different times. He always answered with kindness and professionalism while helping me understand the difficult things. I probably called him 20 times as well and if I wasn't able to get a hold of him, he always returned my call shortly after asking how i was doing with everything in the process and clarifying my often repetitive questions with a great attitude. He even made time to accommodate our schedule by helping us set up an appointment to discuss some details outside of his normal schedule. I would definitely recommend seeking Ko for your home buying needs.

  ATMs are always having problems, website crashes, app always getting maintenance so you can’t use it. Basically if you want a bank that will help you with accessing your money don’t pick this one.
