  Picked the service at random to look over a used car I was buying. He gave the car a good, 20-minute look over, spotting three issues that I should raise with the dealership (and while I'd been aware it was in an accident, he pointed out specific areas that had been replaced -- and that I shouldn't be concerned!). It was a good, solid examination -- no computer hook-up or lift time, but I was confident that he gave me the goods. Then, to my surprise, he told me there was no charge -- it was just the lookover, and he wouldn't take payment! I don't live in Harrisonburg, but if I ever do, *this* is gonna be my mechanic: friendly, nice, and interested in giving you a square deal.

  Brought in a used diesel truck, completely unannounced, to see if they could do a pre-purchase check. They didn't have a lift open, but gave it a thorough inspection anyway, it was a 4x4 so we could see under it reasonably well. He pointed out a few issues, the most major of which was rust under an undercoating, and then refused to take any money. I'm from Richmond, 2 hours away, and really was hoping to be able to get this truck, so we opted to try another mechanic who might have a lift open in order to get an assessment on just how bad the rust was, before calling the day's journey a wash. Our minds were blown by the hospitality we received at H&A.

  Haidar has amazing memory, mechanical skills, and ability to figure out the simplest way to fix things. Plus total integrity. And extremely reasonable prices. He has worked on our cars many, many times the last several years.

  Great guy, very respectful and helpful. I'd recommend him to anyone in the area. He closed down his shop and moved overseas about three months ago, but as long as he was in town, this was the place I always went for all my automotive needs.
