Freedom Mortgage- Call Center Reviews

nicole brown1Absolutely under no circumstance would I ever recommend this company. They have $23k of my money they received in over payment. While I can understand not just sending that amount back without some kind of steps needing to be taken, this company straight up REFUSES to give answers. They claim one thing one call. I call a few days/weeks later and their notes are OPPOSITE of what is told to me when I’m on phone. Then they give a new excuse as to why they can’t figure out where the funds are. Now I spend hours on hold and then I’m told a supervisor will call me and they never do. Attorney is hired and I’ll be getting my 23k plus some with my attorney taking action.

Keith Koch1**EDIT** Update: After this latest edit to my review, @Freedom added fraudulent negative comment to credit report which is under dispute as retaliation. @ Freedom Mortgage, if you truly regretted the "negative" experience I AM having, as you say in your response. You could refund the Foreclosure fees you snuck in at the buzzer like the chop shop you are. But we all know that won't happen, don't we? No saving face here...AVOID THIS TRASH COMPANY AT ALL COSTS Reported innacurate payoff amount in verbal and written form to title company, causing more than a 16k difference in expected and actual payoff. Pursued and finalized a foreclosure process during closing despite 2 seperate confirmations that there would be no issues with the sale. Prevented title company from paying off loan to tack on 2.5k in foreclosure costs. This company is garbage, and I am exploring the possiblity of suit for damages. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Trash humans run this place.
Response from the ownerKeith, thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We regret that you had a negative experience, and will use this as an opportunity to improve.

Soo Beedoo1RUN DON'T WALK...AWAY. One star only because there isn't zero stars. Weve been in the process more than 8 weeks. I chose them because they currently service my mortgage. Wish I had read these reviews first. Closing Promise date was 032222. I was assigned an associate who had a computer meltdown and now says she has no phone. There's no way except email to this phoneless, computerless person to get a status. Be aware that there's a portal for you to put all of your information in, but ZERO two way communications on demand. As other reviewers stated, I get multiple calls each week with no information for me, just a canned readout not to open any new accounts and to make my payments. There's one associate who is particularly SNIPPY when I ask for information. I hope she's truly on recording. Our confidence is at an all time low. I don't expect this process or the refi to be anything but a huge waste of time but I did see that sometimes these comments get responded to and yes, I'm that desperate.

Roger Huntman1AVOID THIS COMPANY.Shop for a different mortgage company. The minute I asked them NOT to shop my information to their brother and sister company (because I was getting non stop tries to get me to refinance to a worse deal), they suddenly began to say they never received my payment on time and started charging me late fees. I send my check WELL within the time frame. I am one step away from reporting their shady practices to whatever the equivalent of the securities commission is for mortgages.

margaret williams1Worst company ever. I have been lied to and messed around and they are quick to say the calls are recorded but dont think that will help you in any way when they lie. I am going to find another mortgage company and get away from these moronic clowns. Id give zero stars if I could. This is going on 3 months. No one will call me back. No one will respond to emails. My mortgage went up and Im on a fixed rate! The refi is only saving me about $70, and I was told it was going to be much more. Three months for $70? I think not. Over 6k tacked on and for what? Beware!

Shannon Telljohn1We had refinanced our home once before with Freedom as they were our existing mortgage company, and it went off without a hitch. This time? I'd never recommend this company to anyone. We were told we should have a December closing (It's January 10 as of this review). At least three different representatives have contacted us (redundantly, asking for the same documents that had just been sent to other reps who'd asked for them), and they continue to use the wrong phone number and email address. They won't return our calls or emails, except to provide occasional vague "updates" such as, "I hope to hear something within 24 hours," "I hope to hear something today," "We're in the home stretch ... dotting i's and crossing t's," "Underwriting is reviewing your file right now," "Your file has gone back to underwriting for final review," (which sounds promising the first couple of times) but NO closing date, NO indication that our refi will actually be closed, and there are other things hinging on the cash out from this. My realtor and another lender we're working with are astounded at the lack of efficiency and professionalism we've experienced with Freedom. I'm not sure we shouldn't have already pulled the plug and gone with a local lender; I don't think it would have cost us the extra time we were thinking it would.

Joshua Janssen1would give 0 stars if I could. Please never use this company. They constantly call me every day to every two days and tell me I am late on my payments, But both my bank and their system shows I paid at the beginning of the month. The customer service is terrible, and i feel bad for anyone looking to use this company in the future.
Response from the ownerJoshua, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around.

Jim Kennedy1They offered to refinance my loan. It is in process and I have tried to get them to respond to emails, calls - leaving messages etc. both to the Call center, the loan officer, and the customer care expert. I have tried to contact them multiple times over the last 3 weeks and I GET NO RETURNED EMAILS OR PHONE CALLS. I would avoid them like COVID-19
Response from the ownerJim, thank you for your review. We are sorry that your Freedom Mortgage experience fell short of your expectations, but thankful you took the time to share your opinion.

Paul Lien1Avoid at all costs. The customer service isn't even worth a 1 star. Hidden fees will be added to your account and if you try to dispute it, they will make up some excuses. Fees are not mentioned anywhere on their site and if they are, they are inaccurate. DONT' GO WITH FREEDOM MORTGAGE. IF YOUR LENDER SELLS TO MORTGAGE, GET OUT IF YOU CAN!

Joe Tanner1Have called me non stop for 18 months so mus about refinancing. Have told them multiple times to put me on their do not call list but apparently they do not care to do that or have such poor management with their CRM that they can’t act competently enough to avoid these illegal calls.
