  Katie Grimes was one the most difficult people to work with during the process of financing my first home. She was extremely difficult to get in touch with and would only return calls after 7:00pm. I was contacted by the seller’s realtor about information that Katie should have passed along and was completely blind sided throughout the process. I then was told that I could not be with my insurance agent to “make things work” but that as soon as I closed on the house Katie would help me get the “simple process” started to change my insurance to the one we desired. I was in constant contact with Katie for 2 months after closing on the house and she promised me (through text only and never returning my phone calls) that she would let me know where the process was at and to get in contact with my insurance agent personally to let him know what was going on and none of this happened. On the upside Shelby (Katie’s assistant) was contacted 2 months after closing and she started and ended the process of switching to the desired insurance agent and personally called them to make sure they knew where it was in the process of switching. It was to my understanding that the process was NEVER started by Katie and Shelby was able to accomplish it in less than a week. I was very disappointed in the professional demeanor of Katie and felt that she was not there to help me unless I was consistently badgering her with texts/phone calls. I would not suggest financing with Katie especially if you are first time home buyer. I realize that buying a house is not easy and there are frustrations but most of the frustrations could have been avoided but was not due to her lack of communication and willingness to answer questions/return phone calls.

  I’m forever grateful to my friends for their referral to Fountain Mortgage and Michele. I’ve always dreamed of buying my own home, but never imagined I’d be doing it by myself, and in the middle of a pandemic. I had more than a few moments of “what am I doing?!” or “what does this mean?” and a variety of other half baked questions, but Michele was always there with an answer and an explanation to help ensure I understood and was comfortable with everything—even if it was 10 pm on a Friday night, or an early weekend morning.   Fountain Mortgage is hands down, the most efficient and competent mortgage company in Kansas City. Owner Mike Anderson worked after hours to ensure the purchase of our new home went as smoothly as possible.   My husband and I worked with Katie Bond and we highly recommend her. Katie was professional, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make the process easy, understandable, and quick. She came to our home to complete paperwork, kept us advised throughout process, and was able to close our loan early when we asked.
