Flagstar Bank Home Lending Reviews

Allie Lechtenberger1Is there a lower star rating? If so, I would give them this rating. I have owned several homes already and my current situation, unfortunately, both my home and my investment property is carried by Flagstar Bank. When you close on a property, the title company sells your loan to a bank. You do not have a choice of whom the loan is sold to. Flagstar is by far, the worst, worst mortgage company I have ever dealt with. Word cannot even describe how incompetent they are. I am on automatic deduction with both loans. I also pay extra every month as there is no prepayment penalty. Weather or not it is purposely this bank suddenly terminates your auto payment due to the extra payment, then charges you a late fee and says you are late. It's as if they are purposely working against you to pre-pay your mortgages which I always do. When you call to the call center, they are all just uneducated and untrained and it goes into a downward spiral from there. I honestly don't have any good advice other than if you can try at closing to ensure you go with a bank other than Flagstar. If you do get unlucky enough to have them - document everything, and I do mean everything.

Sean Hickman1FlagStar Bank is not honoring Governor Newsome’s order to allow American families to defer mortgage payments for 3 months. Flagstar wants you to pay in full after the end of three months. How the hell are people going to pay 3 months of mortgage when they’re not employed. Shame on you, apparently you hate Vetrans and the American people. Thank you For helping to kill American people or ruining their lives.

Mark Ryan1There is no one at this company with any soul or customer service attitude whatsoever. First of all, since the shooting in Las Vegas, a lot of us lost work. I explained this to them in advance of financial problems. They tacked on late fees instead of caring or helping. Today, I went online to pay. Technical difficulties. I log in to chat. No one avail for loan payments to talk to. I ask someone in accounts to direct me. I get an automatic scripted loan policy statement without any human answer even she greeted "Hi my name is Crystal, how can I help?" I told her how rude that was and asked for a human answer and some direction. Nothing. I had to leave to do errands. While driving on blue tooth, I called to make a payment since I couldn't log in. From two people I got instructions how to fix the log in issue but if I wanted to make a phone payment, I had to pay a fee. I asked to waive the fee since I was already on the phone so I could move on. Nothing. No help. No care. Only policy. They should not pretend to have anything to do with customer service. They should not even mention it in any of their sites or correspondence. Customer service and/or caring does not exist at Flagstar.

Michael Stevens1This bank brought my mortgage company from another company and I always had bi weekly payments taking out of my account. I set up the bi weekly payments to be drafted out of my account as soon as my account was rendered over to them well I thought I did after following directions which was explained to me by several customer service reps only to find out that they needed additional money the day my draft was to be taking out, Katie the manager I spoke with tried to get me to get out of the program which I've been a part of since had a mortgage for over 20 years which I couldn't understand because it's one or two payments towards the principal. Katie also told me that going forward the draft will not come out on the day of which I get paid which is on a Friday in which I have always had it taking out but getting back to several reps I talked they apparently all gave me false information on me setting up my bi weekly account. TERRIBLE BANK TO DO BUSINESS WITH!
