First Horizon Bank Reviews

Gary Anderson4Like the Bank. Good services provided. Exception was DID NOT LIKE THEIR COVID POLICIES. I was NOT allowed into the bank - any of their locations - earlier on during Covid. I had some large monetary deposits (for me, at least) and did not feel comfortable sending one or two thousand dollars through the tube to be counted. Had trouble once being $20 off from my counting. Minor, I know, but to not be allowed into my bank who was holding many thousands of my dollars did not sit well with me. Restaurants were letting people in right and left.

Meg Goddard1I called the Kingston Pike branch of First Horizon on October 6, 2020 and asked about ordering checks. I opened both a checking and a savings accounts several years ago when the bank was still First Tennessee Bank. I used this branch, and it was the one with which I felt most comfortable. The representative who helped me said, “No problem,” and he verified my address on file. He said that I should expect the checks in 7-10 days. On October 15, I received the checks. Great, I thought. Then, I checked my bank account and realized I had been charged $32.45 for the checks. When I called on October 6, I had never told that there would be a charge to my account. In response to the unexpected charge, I called the Kingston Pike branch again on October 16. Politely, I explained that I’d had an account for several years. When I opened the account, I’d never received checks. I explained that I had received checks per my request but was never told there would be an associated fee. (I’ve had other bank accounts which included complimentary checks when a new account was opened.) The representative with whom I spoke was kind. She apologized and said something like, “Let me see about waiving that fee for you.” She asked to put me on a brief hold. A few minutes later, I was speaking with someone (unidentified) who was, presumably, a branch manager. The branch manager asked me for the name of the bank employee with whom I spoke on October 6. I said that I couldn’t remember. (I could not, and I was not calling to get an employee in trouble.) The manager looked it up and said that the employee’s name was Larry. The manager told me that he would have a talk with Larry. (That doesn’t really help me.) The manager then said that I could return the checks, and he would waive the $32 fee. I explained that I now live in Atlanta, Georgia. (The nearest First Horizon branch is more than 60 miles from my home. It would take me about an hour and a half to drive there.) The manager explained that “with some types of accounts” the bank does not charge for checks, but with “your type of account” it does. He seemed to imply that I have a poor person (no minimum balance) account and thus am ineligible for free checks. (Got it. American Express and Charles Schwab have never made me feel this way.) Politely but firmly, I told the manager that I did not have a problem with the bank’s policy. It’s fine if the bank wants to charge its customers for checks. I understand that it is a business. I have a problem with the fact that I was not informed that I would be charged and then money was deducted from my account. The manager reiterated that in order to receive a refund, I would need to return the physical checks to the bank. (The checks are printed with my name and address. Why does the bank need the checks back? This made no sense whatsoever to me.) This is not the first time this bank has made an error with my account, but it is the last time. I opened a new bank account at another bank today. Over the next week, I will update my direct deposit with my employer, and I will zero out the balance on this account. Then, I’ll call the Kingston Pike branch and politely ask them to close the account. I’m 30 years old and will, hopefully, be banking for a long time. It just won’t be at First Horizon Bank. They lost this customer over $32.45.

Lucia Sosa4I have a complaint about the bank that is located on magnolia avenue with the name burlinton yesterday, May 24, I went to make a deposit and the tellers stood waiting for half an hour, there were no more clients, there were 2 tellers, one is supposed to be for teller clients and the other for those who are inside but it turns out that these two cashiers were waiting for another customer to come through the window and while they had me there waiting maybe to see me that I am Hispanic they were ignoring me and bored I was thinking of getting out of there when finally one of them American decided to serve me I told her that I was going to deposit 4,000 dls in save and 1,000 in checks and I started looking for my account and it turns out that I was playing with the computer keys it is not possible that 10 minutes there typing the computer did not finish and then another client came through the window he stopped attending me and left I went to the window, waited a few minutes and told the other African American cashier that she was still serving me and the Asian African American did the same the other cashier typed and typed and did not finish it seemed that the 2 agreed and they stressed me so much with their attitude that finally they measured the receipt of the thousand dollars that I deposited but they did not give me the receipt of the 4,000 dollars and I told them 2 that they please measure the receipt for the 4000 dollars as well and they were as if they did not know 4 times I told them I want the receipt for the 4000 dls and one and the other were assiduous those who did not know I got so angry that I told them it's fine no meloden and quickly I opened my account in the cell phone and the 4000 did not appear and I went to my car very angry and they were about to close about 3 minutes to close because I was the last of the clients and I came back to talk to the people who are in the office and They saw that between angry and I was heading to the office and with my cell phone in hand and finally the 4000 dls appeared in my cell phone account I think they wanted to be a fraud so more attention is needed to those who work there in that bank and it is not the first time it happens previous ment There was another African-American cashier already grand3, about 50 years old, my husband went to deposit a check and 3 days passed and it did not appear in his account. He went to complain to the cashier because the total of his check was not registered. It did not appear as deposited and the African-American lady She quickly put it in my husband's check, I mean, in his account, after 3 days she knew that my husband had deposited the amount of the check, I'm sure there are several who did not check their balance and these vermin take advantage of it and God knows what account they loa they transfer very bad experiences with that bank I will never deposit there again
