  As an engineer who is very detail oriented I finally found someone who beats me. Mathew has made navigating the financial side of purchasing a new property as stress free as possible. Mathew's experience dealing with all of the new construction home financial pitfalls made the buying and selling process very easy. Mathew helped educate me and set expectations regarding all charges, fees and paperwork needed to complete the purchase of our new home. Mathew definitely goes way beyond what's expected. As proof he even offered to help with any questions or issues as it related to the same of our old home which he doesn't get paid for. I would never recommend anyone try to shop for a load with out a broker like Mathew. He does this for a living and is very good at it. If you are looking for someone to look out for you in the jungle of finding and securing real estate financing you absolution must employ Mathew Shulz at Firelight Mortgage Consultants. Don't call anyone else as he knows how to deal with the large banks and he knows which ones are better than others. Please, please, please don't call anyone else! New Review: This is the second time I have worked with Mathew at Firelight on a refi. Mathew continues to go well above and beyond to ensure that all questions and concerns are addressed prior to closing. He really knows his business well. Once again, I have nothing but praise for Mathew and I have even referred others to him with a full endorsement. Make sure to call Mathew Shulz at Firelight as you won't be dissappointed. As an engineer, I have a tendency to have questions about everything. Mathew is awesome is always available to help you through the process.

  Mathew and Wendy were amazing! We had frustratingly been trying to refinance our home through another company for over five months when a friend referred us to Mathew. What a blessing!! Our loan was processed and closed within seven weeks! They were so nice and professional and happily answered all of our questions along the way.   Mathew places a strong emphasis on customer service plus he knows his stuff! The world of finance is complex yet he took the time to explain components for his customer so they better understand. He’s sincere and works very hard at building trust. We also appreciated his accessibility even taking calls on Friday evenings and weekends! Mathew also made it a point to call us often to check in on our house hunting progress and reassure us he was there for us...awesome service! In summary we are satisfied customers and very pleased with Mathew’s services which eventually resulted in a purchase for a home we love! This is an updated post because we recently refinanced our original mortgage to take advantage of lower interest rates. We went with Mathew once again because of our initial work with him on last year’s loan. And let me say...the comments from last year are every bit applicable today as they were last year! We are extremely impressed with Mathew’s pleasant demeanor and professionalism. He takes the time to explain not only the process but provides a suite of financial options that meets your needs. We’re very impressed with his customer service ethic—providing frequent check-ins on progress. He’s also very accommodating on getting the necessary paperwork submitted via emails/texts instead of having to meet face to face. This is great considering our busy work and family schedules. Even for the signing Mathew and the notary came to our house to accommodate our busy lives. Now that’s customer service!! I’m confident we’ll be coming back to Mathew as well as referring him to our family and friends.

  I thoroughly enjoyed my experience getting my mortgage with Mathew. I was nervous, being a first time homebuyer, and Mathew took all the time we needed to answer any questions and explain how the process works. He put me at ease that I was making a smart purchase that would work financially with my budget, and was there every step of the way. The attention to detail and concern for my purchase really made it above and beyond!   I have worked with Mathew for over 10 years and completed 3 loans with him. There is a reason he is the only mortgage broker I want to work with! He is honest, diligent, professional and always has represented my best interests in his work. He follows through with every step of the process and makes you feel very reassured that you are in the best hands possible. You'll have to try very hard to find a better quality individual than Mathew! He is amazing and deserves all the praise and accolades you see in the other reviews.   Matthew and his team made refinancing a breeze even during the Pandemic. By utilizing the latest in technology, they were able to collect information, review documents with us and communicate through the entire process.   Mathew was extremely professional and helpful. He made the entire mortgage process actually a fun experience (vs. dreading like I did whenever I went directly through a bank). He provided tons of options for whatever you were looking to achieve (again I never even knew there were more options than the 1 the bank gives you typically). He is responsive and open about the process, and I would not hesitate in a second to recommend him to friends and family. Never go directly to a bank ever again! Always use a mortgage broker to get the best options, and Mathew is the best of the mortgage brokers you can find. I cannot recommend him enough. He is the best of the best, and I am super happy that I was referred to him.
