Our rental home was in excellent condition, and every question I had was answered right away. I felt VERY confident that details were taken care of so I enjoy every minute of our time together!

JHK49 JHK495My wife and I reserved a rental at the beach about 8 months ahead of when we were to arrive. As we neared the date of our reservation, Fickling informed us that the beach rental we reserved had been sold and the new owners were going to remodel .... hence, our reservation was canceled. However, Fickling found another rental that if it was OK with us they would rent it to us at the same cost as the original .... or, they would make a full refund of our monies. I checked for other rentals and found absolutely nothing like what we had rented at a price we could afford. Additionally, the substitute that Fickling was offering would normally rent for considerably more than what our original payment had been. So, we took the rental that Fickling offered as a substitute. Upon our arrival on the dates of our reservation, Fickling provided a welcome basket full of fruits and sweets ..... and the beach rental was very nice with its own pool, king size beds in each of the 3 bedrooms as well as a TV in every bedroom plus the living room. We will definitely use Fickling again .... we love St. George Island.

Shawn Mills1Worst customer Service I have ever experienced. We had been renting the same property for the last 4 years since this house had an elevator and we had people that truly needed this. When we arrived at the property we found a sign that stated the elevator was no longer an Amenity (We had paid extra for this Amenity). When we contacted the company we were told that they did not know about this and would contact the owner to find out what was going on. We then got an email that said they elevator was removed as Amenity in February of 2020 (a year prior and the rental company "did not know about it" and were continuing to charge the "Amenity Fee") The fee was refunded. We also stayed in the house in July of 2020 and used the elevator. We advised the company of this and they told us that we were lying and did not use it. We had drove 8 hours to get there and so we decided to just deal with the three flights of stairs for the week as we didn't have any other option other that to return home. While preparing to leave our biggest fear happened, My Father IN law who is on Chemo missed one of the steps and fell down the remainder of the stairs. Luckily he was not severely injured just minor scrapes and bruises. We contacted the Company to file an incident report. When the "Manager" came out she immediately met us with extreme attitude and advised that she would not take a report unless we called 911. 911 was not needed as he was not truly hurt just wanted to have the incident documented. Every time we attempted to speak the "Manager" would immediately cut us off telling us we were wrong. When asked why we were not notified of the elevator being removed prior to our arrival she advised that it was not her problem and that we hadn't booked the elevator (we had paid for it and spoke with them at the start of the week and had been refunded so not sure how she figures it was not in our agreement). We then realized that the "Manager" was secretly recording the entire conversation and when asked about it we were told "I don't have to advise you that I am recording." As long as you do not have to deal with the rental company you will be fine but if you ever need anything from them good luck getting any kind of true customer service. We will not be doing business with this company in the future.

While we are saddened after four years to lose you due to an amenity not being offered, we explained the elevator was not an operable amenity and refunded the $100 fee upon your arrival. Amenities cannot be guaranteed and never were guaranteed, as stated in the signed rental agreement and guidelines. During your week-long stay, we were not contacted again regarding the requirement of an elevator. On Sunday, the day of your departure, the office was called, and a guest frantically requested the manager come to the property because their father had fallen down the stairs and was bleeding. When the manager arrived, there were no emergency vehicles, and the father who fell down the stairs said he was fine and showed the manager how he just missed the last step and bruises easily due to the medication he’s on. The manager was videoing, upon arrival, with the use of their cell phone. The use of the recording is to protect them and was never hidden or done secretly. The video clearly shows they were asking the guest if they would like to contact first responders to get looked at to make sure the guest who fell was okay since the guests were so concerned, and the family denied any assistance. The family began to act hostile toward our manager and began yelling why the elevator was unavailable at 10:00 when the guests were scheduled to check out. While the manager felt threatened, she remained calm and was always kind. The manager was firm in their responses, stating the same reason it was not available. However, it did not justify or give anyone permission to use profanity toward our manager and tell them to leave when they tried to make sure everyone was okay. If it had been brought to our attention upon arrival that an elevator was required, we could have attempted to relocate you to another unit. Instead, the fee was refunded since it could not be used, and we were under the impression all the guests were satisfied with that decision. When a second team member arrived, we asked again if the father wanted any help, first aid, ice, bandages, and he refused help. The incident was documented and recorded. We would never tell someone that we cannot document unless 911 is called. We are required to document every call, email, and conversation regardless of if 911 is called. We understand the family was upset, and yelling at the property manager may have made them feel better short term. Upon leaving, the family member who used profanity toward our manager apologized, and our manager accepted their apology. We realize vacations are stressful, especially when everything doesn’t go as planned. However, we attempt to address any factors within our control to make our guest’s visits enjoyable. Fickling Vacation Rentals acknowledged there was an error in the charge and refunded upon arrival. The rental agreement clearly stated there was no elevator clause in the contract, and since it was not available, the fee was refunded. We manage privately owned homes. Every owner chooses which specific amenities to offer, and the use of them is never guaranteed. We make our best effort to ensure everything is in operation order, but there are times when repairs are out of our direct control. We encourage all of our guests to contact us at any time to confirm the availability or operability of any feature of our homes.

Raj DeLand5Fickling Vacation Rentals is an awesome company! The first time we stayed with them was last summer, and we stayed in 1st Dibs Beachfront (we are also staying there this summer too). The house was perfect for a group of 10. The master bedroom on the top floor has magnificent views of the Gulf of Mexico, and the jacuzzi tub was working and felt great! The living room on the second floor was cool. I loved watching the TV at the top of the room and then giving my neck a break by watching the waves crash upon the beach! The game room on the first floor was great for my friends and I to play some video games after coming inside from the beach! The foosball table is also nice and sturdy. Also, the pool was working great and felt awesome in the nice summer heat. The hot tub was working efficiently and the whirlpool was very nice. I would definitely stay again!

Charis Lee5Stayed at RedFish Run Inn on the planation. The house was perfect and just what I needed for my week at SGI. They owner accommodated my fur babies and I'm grateful. I've never stayed on the Bay side but I am so glad I did. It was a short walk to the beach and loved the gorgeous view every morning. I have been coming to SGI for over 10 years and never used Fickling until this year. They were fantastic -- from the time I booked my rental to when I walked in the door; their staff is not only helpful but pleasant. I'm so glad I found them and will use them for my future bookings.
