  If I was able to give less than 1 star I would have. Last week I received an offer of $5700 from Empire for a diamond that had been measured at 3+ carets by 4 other jewelers. Today I returned to sell it to them for $5700 but was told that he'd only give me $1000 per caret and it was less than 3 carets. He lied to me! Seller beware.

  I can understand why you were upset. Several diamond buyers you visited changed their originally quoted price and I can see how that is frustrating. I cannot speak for others; I can only explain our reasons. It's true, after briefly evaluating the diamond and quoting you a price, you came back a week later with the intent of selling at the price we quoted. After carefully inspecting the diamond, we noticed a a few very subtle, yet very important aspects of the diamond that we did not pick up during your first visit. First, we originally took your word for it that it weighed 3 plus carats. After we accurately measured and estimated the weight, we determined it weighed approximately 2.50cts. Knowing the weight can only be definitely determined if the diamond is removed from the setting and weighed on the scale, we were willing to do so in your presence and with your permission. Before we got to that juncture, we also noticed the tip of the stone was broken underneath a prong. We felt obligated to mention this as removing the stone could have caused further damage to the diamond which was not a risk we felt comfortable with. Taking all this into consideration, yes, our price changed from the original quote. We knew that you would not like hearing what we had to say but we are always up front and honest with our customers no matter what. I also take the blame for not communicating the best I could have with you as I was discovering this information. I should have been more precise while walking you through our thought process.   Asked about a piece of jewelry in their case and they told me “I don’t know look it up on our ebay”, they didn’t even attempt to look or ask someone else. They were rude and spoke poorly about my 90 year old grandma to me who was parked outside the store. A man yelled at her twice that she couldn’t park their even though we were simply finishing up a transaction, we were there less than 5 minutes, and nobody else was there. I would not do business with again.

In response to the customer’s review regarding our associate’s reply to a question about a piece of jewelry in our showcase, our associate answered simply and honestly that the pieces in the showcase were not for sale, that their purpose is to show our customers the types of items we buy or offer loans on and that all our salable items were offered online in our ebay store. The car, to which the customer refers and driven by her grandmother, was parked illegally on the front sidewalk to our store, blocking the entry door to our establishment. More importantly, it was potentially dangerous and a safety hazard not only to our customers, but to our staff and pedestrians as well. Our store manager never spoke rudely or yelled at anyone and actually helped guide the driver out of the tight spot and over to a safer location. Sincerely from the Staff at Empire

  I had a Gold Bracelet that had been sitting in the Draw . I shopped around and this wonderful shop Paid me More then any other Jeweler offered . The Staff has been Beyond Kind , polite and Most Helpful . Happy to Be a Customer

  It truly saddens me to hear some of these reviews. Unfortunately in these hard times we sometime feel we are entitled to more then what we have. It is difficult for some people for countless reasons to sometimes have to sell your belongings. I have recently and long ago In the past have done business with empire and I must say Dave & Jody have made such a positive impact on my life with their honest business. The professionalism and education they have given me has literally changed my life this week. They are honest professional people whom if they are able to help and compensate their customers really want to do so. Unfortunately sometimes it just doesn’t work out but as far as their reputation as a stand up honest company I’m my neighborhood. I personally recommend this company to anyone who asks. It has been an absolute pleasure to business with this company. I absolutely look forward to doing a lot more business with them in the future.

  They used to be more honest. Lately, I tried selling a 14k Diamond and pearl engagement ring and they offered me $100! I put the same ring on eBay, and got $700. I will think twice about bringing my jewelry to them.

  empire pawn nassau my husband took me to buy a flower diamond bracelet that I wanted the bracelet is unique because many people when they look at it say that it is very pretty which is not common because only there they were treated very kindly and we left very happy for the purchase that was for February 14, 2021🥰

  I went to Empire Pawn just this past Friday, December 8, 2017. OMG what a joke about this place. I requested a loan for my jewelry. I had 13 rings I presented to representative. 10 rings were 10K, 2 rings were 14K and 1 one them was 18K. Also a few of them had small diamonds and I also had 2 -14K gold chains. I first dealt with a female rep who was weighing my jewelry and trying to give me a figure but her male counterpart stepped in and said he would give me $1200.00 for my rings. But then the female rep told him I was looking for a loan. Thank God she did jump in because I was about to say to him, are you nuts, only $1200 you would give me for my rings. He must of thought I was on drugs if he thought I was going to let him give me only $1200.00 for all of those rings. To me he was the one on drugs or something. And then the amount they wanted to give me for a loan for all of this was a joke as well. I kindly said thank you and took my business elsewhere. I went to another shop in the surrounding area and they gave me a loan for $1000 more than what they were offering me here at Empire. Please beware of this place. I think they really tried to hoodwink me. SMH.

  This posted a week ago.They say on site they buy coins,when got there they do not buy what i have I had some old coins European/game tokens/coins I have some Kennedy 50 cent / half dollar piece's according website worth about 5 bucks each* 16 of them 80 maybe.1/ Las Vegas golden nugget liberty head game token worth about 15-30 bucks according to the website ebay,etc when I arrived today 7/24/2019,to many excuses low Ball on prices and not buying they coins that I have.stay away from this place for good.not trusted place .says one thing does another.they are not knowledgeable in all coins foreign and domestic.run away from this place.what a waste of time and gas.edit: reapply to there answer, they bull liers ,every reapply company says out of there mouth is lie's, falsely and illegal advertising,they needed too be shut down.

  Dennis, As we mentioned in an email correspondence with you prior to you coming in, we only buy coins or items we can sell or those that have value. Not all Kennedy half dollars are worth more than face value, only those with dates prior to 1970. We're sorry you are disappointed, but as we also told you, "bring it in if you think it has value, if we buy it we’ll quote a price. If we don’t buy it you’ll take it home."
