Educators Credit Union Reviews

Chooby Balls1DO NOT BANK HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THEM PLAYING GAMES WITH YOUR MONEY. I go from $75 on night and the next morning at around 2am, I’m -$170. They take money out of your account from transactions 3-4 days after you made that transaction. They’re not instant transactions. These are on going issues I have to deal with monthly. Oh and if you get scammed, don’t bother calling them to try and get your money back. Their customer service is awful and don’t care about the customers. Other banks like Chase Bank, will help reimburse you when you have to deal with things like that. Overall horrible experience with this credit union. STAY AWAY
Response from the ownerGood afternoon, Due to how the Automated Clearing House functions, transactions from over the weekend are pending until the weekend is over and are processed on Monday. If you have the chance, please let us know more about your experience through our Contact Us form so we can look at this together with you: https://www.ecu.com/contact-us/

Jessica B1PLEASE READ BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK: My husband and I went in to take out an auto loan for myself. Half way through the application process the banker asked for my husbands SSI#. After providing it, my husband asked why he needed his information if I was the only one going on the loan. He said, “Because you’re married.” Both my husband and I explained that we wanted to buy a new home and his credit can NOT be pulled. The banker told us it wouldn’t be. My husband and I decided we did not want to follow through with the application. I stated, “I no longer feel comfortable with continuing this application and would like to stop this process and find an alternative option.” The banker said okay and we left. THE BANKER PULLED BOTH OUR CREDIT ANYWAY. . . AFTER WE LEFT. We NEVER gave consent. That’s fraudulent and Illegal. Unbelievable.

Michael Lynch5Super friendly tellers, clerks, and bankers. Free coffee and snacks a plus as well. Always happy with my services here. I don't usually need to go into an actual back anymore, but I go out of my way to visit here when I can.

K F5I have had nothing but a great experience with Educators since I switched. An employee convinced me to sell my car and get a new car loan to help my credit and it worked! Plus, I got a brand new car and I wasn't thinking I could afford one. Now I have all my financials in one place and the customer service is spectacular. I even had to pop in one day to get a new card and it literally took 10 minutes. I am so impressed by this bank!!
Response from the ownerThank you for sharing your experience Kel and for being a member-owner of Educators Credit Union!

Latreal Teeter5I was in need of a personal loan and I talked with Laney Guynn. She was absolutely amazing! She helped me not only obtain my personal loan but also helped me getting an increase on my credit card AND gave me some important information concerning my car. I absolutely loved talking with her, and I will always make appointments with her as long as she is still there! Need more people like her.

Wild Card (Wildcard)1They damaged my trust greatly. An employer check bounced and they closed the account and hit it with fraud. This is why we have holds, the check never cleared, no money was stolen but clearly this is how an unprofessional company handles its clients. Very very dissapointed. We discussed it for hours. No change in status. They now want us to open an account with another bank for a year then come back. I have been a member for years. I'm not broke. I hold a steady amount always in my accounts. No difference.

Dude From Wisconsin5Never had a issue with ECU. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Had 2 car loans through them and will most likely get another one when the time comes. Really can’t think of one complaint.
Response from the ownerThank you very much for your kind words and for your loyalty. We're so glad to hear that you've had such a positive experience as a member-owner of Educators Credit Union.

Kevin3great customer service when you go into the credit union and there mobile app is awesome. Nearly impossible to speak to a human over the phone. No operator or option to speak to a person. They rely too heavily on automation.
Response from the ownerThank you Kevin, we really appreciate your feedback. We just changed our phone menu to try to make it easier for our members. Unfortunately with the volume of calls we receive every day, we aren't able to answer all of the calls personally. However, our new phone menu tries to be as efficient as possible in getting you to the department or staff member who can assist you best.
