      I turned in my application this morning to the Crossville Housing Authority. Unfortunately for me and my family Susie was the person who received my application. When I asked for a copy of my application for my records due to the sensitive nature of the information I provided, Susie informed me that I had to pay $0.25 per page for her to take the 5 min to make copies. When I informed her that I had no money (after all I was applying for assisted housing and currently unemployed), she offered me another blank application so that I could manually rewrite the information and then keep. So, the CHA was willing to give away another blank application, but a copy of the 20+ page application that I already filled out would cost me over $5.00. When I returned later that afternoon with money in hand, Susie was conveniently unable to locate my application. After some searching my application finally turned up and a copy was made for $5.25. I still did not receive all of the pages and rather than handing me the copies she tossed them on the counter in front of me. Instead of the money going towards diapers for my infant son I was forced to spend what little cash I had on a copy of my housing assistance application. It is my hope that by sharing my story other families will not suffer the indignity I experienced at the Crossville Housing Authority.
