Credit Union of Texas Reviews

John Speer1Went to get money out of the ATM. Live in the neighborhood and am already of member of a CU and was going looking at transferring to the Credit Union of Texas. Anyway, went to the teller and asked to break 2- $20.00 bills. The teller wouldn't do it because I wasn't a member of this CU... that right, this CU would break 2-$20.00 bills! I asked, are you members of shared branch... nope. This place is behind the times, limited on service, and has no desire to attract... much less help new and potential members. Your CU board and management really needs to read this.
Response from the ownerJohn, thank you for your rating. We're sorry your experience did not meet your expectations.

Jared1Very rude customer service. Refused to finance a used vehicle after I was pre-qualified for a much larger loan than required for the car I wanted to purchase. Specialist I spoke with said it was a "total loss" vehicle, when it was not. I asked if they'd reconsider if I had the car inspected by a collision specialist and received a curt reply back of "no, we would not" reconsider. Nothing was wrong during my test drive despite the severity of the damage reported on the Carfax. My bet is that CUTX just didn't want to finance a vehicle that was as cheap as the one I planned to buy. Will not get any of my future business.

Germany Germany1It was a good Start when I opened my Account with the Credit Union of Texas. My Complaint has NOTHING to do with this Specific Location on Ross Ave. They are Amazing. But the Advertisement says : Get Paid 2 Days earlier 🙄 NO Way, if like the End of the Day or Next Morning as Promised. Do Not Count on this Feature !!! And then they try to Blame the Employers for beeing late of the Money beeing processed into your Account
Response from the ownerGermany, thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed your experience and are excited to have you as part of our CUTX family.

Kali Hilton1Waited in line for over 10 minutes to speak to a teller while other employees were standing around seemingly doing nothing, only to be denied a roll of quarters for the cash I brought in simply because I am not an account holder there. I would never an open an account here due to this policy. I’ll stick my super nice a helpful credit union!

Brenda Ajaga4I started with them in 1984, got my first new car. Back then it was no problem and great customer service. My credit was great so it wasn't a problem. Started with the old one on Ross nice people worked there. Now things have changed and you may run into some rude people on the phone. But anywho I want change staying with them no matter what. They are better than most. And you know everything changes with time. Somethings I don't agree with but I'm staying with Credit union of Texas. After all they gave me my first new car and a loan.

Jason Kraus1Absolutely awful. I've had 2 cars with them for several years, and you can tell that there service has just gone down hill. They started out as a wonderful company about 5-6 years back, but have completely revolved. Most of the reps I know are no longer there, not very blissful or supportive on the phone, and I continue to play phone tag between customer service and supervisors. One of the things that really is aggitating, is that they have so many extensions that it literally takes 10 minutes to get to whom you want. It went from personal attention to completely automated, and if you mistype or enter the wrong info, it just hangs up. Clovid19 or not, they don't really care, been trying for days to speak to them. I would pay a little more somewhere else and actually get attention and help when you need it. They will probably say this is their busy time to reply, but if I can get through real banks like Chase and Wells Fargo in less than 10 minutes, than I can certainly get through a small credit union in under 3 days. If they say they will call you back, just give up. I have a friend that worked their a couple years back, and I did business with them a few times at the past. Lets just say people are quitting for a reason. Thanks CUTX
