  just stayed at Family Tides Carolina Beach 8/19-23. It was wonderful. The staff at Carolina Retreats was extremely professional and responsive. The rental was very clean and had everything we needed. You walk in the door to a mud room and set of stairs to the living area (two large sofas and Flat screen TV - very comfortable space), updated kitchen with newer appliances and stocked with dishes and everything you need. Just bring food and drinks. There is a walk out balcony with electric grill and table and chairs facing the ocean. The Marriott blocks most of the view from this floor but it’s still pretty and higher floors provide a better view. There is a nice dining area and half bath on that first level as well. Then there is another set of stairs leading up to two private bedrooms on either side of that foot each with their own private full bath. Split floorplan allows privacy. One bedroom has a queen bed and is ocean views and the other has a full daybed and futon bed. Both rooms have flat screen TVs wi fi etc. There is also a full sized washer and dryer on that floor. Then there is one final set of stairs leading up to the Master bedroom with a king bed, ocean views, a large and updated master bath with dual sinks separate tub shower and separate room with toilet. All bathrooms have the nicer high vanities. There is also a larger walk in closet. Hangers to hang clothes if needed. All floors have walk out balconies with a spiral staircase leading to the roof with fantastic beach view. Each stairway opening measures 50” in case you need to bring temporary baby gates as we did. We used 3. Just FYI The location is amazing. Ocean views, better than from pics. Two minute walk from our door to the beach. Three minute walk to boardwalk and Britts donuts. Open Fri-Sunday and get there early as there’s a line but they are so worth it. Tony Silvagni’s Bike and beach chair and umbrella rentals is just steps from the door to this unit. Tony is great and the bike rentals and surf lessons (Also booked from his shop) were a fun addition. We had my parents who are late 60s early 70s and the stairs were a bit much for them and having an 18 month old we had to prepare with gates for the stairs but other than that it is the perfect rental and location. With COVID the fireworks did not happen this year, the Fort Fisher Aquarium was closed and the boardwalk carnival did not operate this year so that was sad. But all the boardwalk shops and restaurants were open as well as a fantastic farmers marked just a few short blocks away on Saturday morning. And a short drive into downtown Wilmington made for a fun beach and sightseeing weekend. Family Tides was a beautiful, clean and excellently located unit! Oh and towels and linens provided. :).

  First, we had to make our bed, an hour later there were roaches on the bed and floor. The shades for the bedroom and the living room to the balcony were broken and and we could not fix them and later found out parts were onorder but still did not keep bright sun out early in the morning. We spent time trying to fix them but couldn’t. Never informed there was a problem. There was not soap for shower, shampoo, no hand soap, only half a roll of paper towels, no amenities except half a shaker of salt and pepper. The tub and shower curtain was mildewed and baseboards also. Vents had not been cleaned in years. Floor had sand more than should expected at the beach. I called one hour after checking in and no one called me back ever. Camode was stopped up. I had to go to office to get plumber help. There is more. Basically the place needs to be updated and refreshed. Carolina Retreats knew the problems yet did not offer any considerations even though they knew all the problems. We did not receive the value we should have received for the price we paid. Very disappointed

  Everyone was super friendly and professional. They called me early to let me know our rental was available which was so great since we had come in to Carolina Beach at 7am for my husband and son to go on a deep sea fishing trip. I was just hanging around waiting for check in when they called. I was so excited to be able to check in early and they were happy and excited for me! They explained everything about the procedures to me in detail. The house was super clean and well stocked. Can't wait to work on next year's vacation rental with Blue Water!

  Carolina Retreats have rented our condo for us for a few years now I have to say they are the best out there. Not only does it rent out very well every year, but Kelli Taylor and her team are really great to deal with. If we ever have a problem or question they immediately get back to us with a response. The last couple hurricanes that went through, they treated our property like their own and we couldn’t appreciate it more being that we live out of state. They did all the hurricane prep for us and when it was over, they actually went up seven flights of stairs since the elevators were out to check on the unit for us. If you are looking for a management company in Carolina Beach, I highly recommend them!

  While this was my first time renting from Blue Water Realty by Carolina Retreats, I have vacationed along the coast of both SC and NC literally my entire life and have rented from various agencies. With that being said, I would like to commend the staff of Blue Water Realty, they were professional, personable and friendly. They reached out to us prior to our trip to confirm our reservations and answer any questions we may have. The property we rented was lovely and exactly as discribed and pictured. It was clean and well maintained. We could not have been more pleased with our overall experience. I would highly recommend Blue Water Reality and will and am renting from them in the future.

  Don’t waste your money !!!! We rented 1309 Carolina beach ave north and it’s full of cockroaches. When we first got there the pool was dirty called them they said they would come out the next day they did pool was still dirty. Went grocery shopping first day so we could cook during our 4 night stay. Cooked the first evening I came back into the kitchen from the deck and the kitchen had roaches everywhere.....all over our food, plates, cups it was nasty. I called the after hours but never got a response from anyone till the next day. They sent out a bug guy but when a house is infested what good will that do. The roaches were through the whole house we slept with the lights on it was disgusting. I really thought they would do the right thing and move us to another location or at least refund something due to the issue and loss of food and supplies but they didn’t. What a waste of 3000 for a vacation that was supposed to be a family get together but turned out to be a nightmare. Please don’t waste your money on this place. Oh and the spare toilet leaked so I top of the pool guy , bug guy now there is another person inside fixing that. So much for relaxing and enjoying ourselves.

  A dream to work with! Property was super clean and they accommodated my families exception request extremely well. I would absolutely use them again. The property was quiet and very roomy for my family of 4. Both pools were extremely well kept and clean. Very appreciative of their hospitality when I booked this last minute trip.

We were renters through them for many years before purchasing our dream five years ago. Knowing the attention to detail, professionalism, and communication level first-hand as renters made it a no-brainer to have Carolina Retreats manage our property when we became owners. The lines of communication are always open, and attentiveness to detail remains. There hasn't been staff turn-over and they ALL know owners by face, name, and address. Great team/great company.
