Very bad customer service and knowledge of the products they offer. My husband called them about a loan for a new boat purchase from another state. They informed us it would not be an issue that we were purchasing it in another state and that they allowed 0% down if you qualified. Once they ran our credit and started the application we were then told we qualified for the best interest rate but they do not allow 0% down on any boat loan. On top of that they informed me they would only finance the purchase if "the dealer played by their rules". Really wish they would have given us the correct information up front...

I have been with Austin Telco for 17 years have had 5 auto loans through them currently two now. We were looking to get a personal loan of $8K to consolidate our credit cards. My wife went up there spoke to dawn in loan office and they ended up saying that we need to make $8000 a month to get a $8000 loan. Keep in mind our credit is 722. I was upset tried calling up there to explain what is the qualifications for a personal loan. Lady I spoke to said she just process the loan and has no idea I asked to speak to dawn she said hold on. Than she said that dawn said yes $8000 income needed a month for a $8000 personal loan. I asked to speak directly to her and she never answered her phone . Now they are closed after me trying to figure this out for half the day. I will be refinancing my auto loans with RBFCU and canceling my accounts after 17 years with them. I can get two 30k auto loans making $5k a month but cant get a $8k personal loan . That's some B.S.!

VERY VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, BAD customer service they always do my transaction wrong, and wen a want to do a cash advance from another credit union they sensed me to different back while a have my account whit Telco. They put my money on hold for 2 days because the teller made a mistake with my transfer. I just cancelled my bank account and move to another credit union back. TELCO SUCKS I'M NOT RECOMMEND THIS BACK...

My experience is based on the Stone Hill Town Center branch in Pflugerville. Branch hours are consumer unfriendly (who closes the lobby at 4?). Employees are unpleasant at best. Policy is to hold all paper check presented for NINE days before releasing funds (ie:they assume all their members are trying to defraud them with every check). It is difficult to open an account (30 minutes of siting with an associate on a slow, out dated computer, continually making the evil eye at my poor, bored kids. How dare a mom have errands to run if her children aren't yet in school!), and even harder to add a joint account owner. And to top it off, they charge you a $10 fee for closing your account early. I though the entire point of a credit union was to avoid the poor customer service and ridiculous fees. Don't be fooled: Austin-Telco is a big bank dressed up like a credit union. Do yourself a GIANT favor and drive across the plaza to RBFCU. Far more customer friendly in every way. :

Not a fan of this bank. They hook you with low interest rates. When I applied for an Auto Loan they wouldn't give me the advertised rate despite a great credit score. The loan officer then added about $300 to my loan amount that was more than my purchase price. She admitted she made a mistake but she was rude. Now I looked at refinancing a 60 month loan to a 72 month and they wanted to give me a loan at 3.29 vs, 1.99 not because of my credit score but because I'm not a new member to the bank. THEY DO NOT VALUE THEIR CURRENT CUSTOMERS, ONLY NEW ONES. Bank wisely and stay clear of this place. Definitely recommend Randolph Brooks instead.

The only reason this is a one star review is that you can't select zero or negative stars. The WORST banking experience EVER! We were dealing with a beneficiary on death situation. Those I spoke with withheld information; lied about what they said and what they didn't and generally obstructed every attempt to conclude the business. This process took over 2 MONTHS! Every time we went back with the next set of requirements, there was something else that we didn't know we needed to do. Their VP of Member Services seemed to go out of her way to be unhelpful. I had to get the attorney involved twice! I can't understand how this business gets away with service that is THIS BAD! The fact that it happens at the leadership levels suggests that the way customers are treated (or mistreated) is an upper level management decision.

I love my Austin Telco FCU. I have been banking with them since I was a teenager. Over 20 years. I am so happy and grateful that I am a member here. Every employee treats me so well. I always feel welcomed. They trust me and I trust them. I would recommend Austin Telco to anybody and everybody.

Applied for a new car loan on a Tesla. Once credit was pulled, I was notified that Austin Telco doesn't finance new car loans with Tesla. But the website allowed me to select from prefilled drop down box, a new 2020 Tesla for the vehicle... The website and lending employee should prevent credit being pulled, if it is for a service they don't offer.

Georgetown Shannon Kylberg was one of Two employees that assisted me in opening a new business account. She even called me later to make sure I was able to connect to my account online. I was going to open at another local bank but left the lobby after 30 minutes of waiting. I'm glad I opted to use ATFCU !!!

Horrible credit union. I banked with Chase and had a much better experience. This has seriously been the most wildly unprofessional financial institution I've ever had to deal with. Things with them got so bad I had to get the federal governing body of credit union's involved to rectify their many mistakes. I would recommend going literally anywhere else.
