      The process is always slow, slower than other banks and that is aggravated by the fact they are based out of Walmart and have huge volume of walk up business. Like all businesses since covid they have been chronically short staffed too. They used to have a stand alone branch with drive through as well, and shutting that down has made things much worse. However I have found their staff to be helpful, friendly and apologetic for long wait times. I know when people get mad over how long it takes at the bank they take it out on the staff, but it is beyond their control, and they have always treated me great

      I LOVE banking here!! The staff is so friendly and professional! I really do not like calling them staff, more like friends. Not only do I bank at Academy Bank my 3 daughters do as well. Kelly is so sweet and took the time with each of the girls explaining everything about a checking and savings account! We also like promotion Peter and Doug!!

      Wish I could leave a NO STAR review. I have had nothing but problems with my secured credit card account. It's been over a month since I closed the card, and am being told that it was never closed. bs. Therefore, I will not be getting my money back anytime soon. I am always on hold FOREVER. I will tell everyone I know NOT to use this bank. I do absolutely love the credit card I have gotten from Central Bank of the Ozarks.

      My debit card info got compromised. I received a call from the fraud department after they let 8 transactions go through from the same place. The fraud department told me I needed to call academy bank customer service to see what I needed to do to get my money back. I called customer service and was informed I needed to dispute the fraud charges. They do not protect you or your money in the event of fraud. Switching banks after 13 years.

      The bank has horrible service, ungodly large fees. The people who work there are so useless. If I haven't worked for a bank and had knowledge of some regulations, and common policies I'd probably be is worse shape. Interaction with employees is so abrupt that they often skip over important details. I make a point to go during the slowest times possible and still get treated as someone they don't want there. They have a wonderful call center that you're redirected to when you call the number listed for the bank, which is almost as bad as showing up in person, but at least you don't feel as discriminated against.

      DO NOT BANK HERE. This bank is terrible. The branch on Independence even told me that they get numerous complaints about this location. I came in to pay a loan off IN FULL, and they talked me into refinancing saying that I'd have money left over again. Turns out after paying $35 to apply to refinance they said, "Sorry, we were wrong. You were never even ELIGIBLE to refinance. That's our mistake, but you still can't have your money back." It's not that I didn't get approved, I had no right to even apply in the first place. They stole $35 in my eyes. I told them I wanted a $35 credit, or I was going to bank elsewhere, and they literally just stared me in the face. Some newbie made a critical mistake that cost me money that I worked too damn hard to for to have someone just tell me it's non refundable even after admitting fault. I tried to come in and talk to the manager, and after three or four trips up there she was finally there. At that point she wouldn't even talk to me face to face, and simply sent the very same lackey who made the initial mistake back and forth to relay messages between us. This is beyond unprofessional, and simply underhanded. Again, DO NOT BANK HERE!!!!!! If you really need to bank with Academy, then at least DO NOT OPEN YOUR ACCOUNT AT THE CAMPBELL LOCATION. Just look at how many people have given one star, and read their complaints if mine doesn't sound valid

      First of all my deposit was supposed to be made available immediately. It wasn't. Second, my transactions were duplicated MULTIPLE times, completely draining my account, putting me in the hole OVER 5000 DOLLARS AND... wait for it... can't use my card and customer service basically said "I don't know I don't care and you're SOL buddy" Are you kidding me?! Worst bank ever.

      I told them I wanted to opt out of over draft. Next thing I know I'm paying 300 in overdraft fees. I've had this account for 2 months disappointed. I will probably sue this place bc from the looks of the reviews I'm not the only person this has happened to. Do not open an account here. Idc if your low income, no income the best bank for you is Central Bank not this garbage place.

      The worst bank I've been a part of. We joined for the convenience, but quickly left because of the lack of benefits. There is practically no return on our money. Their online site was rubbish which meant we had to actually talk to people. We closed it as soon as we could. Which is not easy. Don't be like us and get rushed through the paperwork, read it. Better yet don't join this bank.

      Horrible service at all locations. Service charges and maintenance fees that weren’t disclosed during the initial opening of any accounts. Rude bank tellers. Absolutely no customer service or explanation for any charges on accounts. Don’t waste your time or money.
