  Best place to buy or sell coins, eagles, basically everything. Matt Abbott is a wonderful businessman, honest, kind, and all his associates, except for maybe one, are level headed, courteous and have a warm ambience about them. They love happy customers, so its easy to love them back.

  I was referred repeatedly to Abbott's Coins by the most reputable people in the jewelry business. Andrew is the BEST!! I can't say enough good things about Andrew. HE KNOWS COINS!! He went through every coin and was beyond fair in pricing. I can't recommend him enough. Very honest, smart and extremely competent. A true expert. I can't say that about any of the other places I visited with good reviews. I had the best experience with Andrew by far. See him before you sell anywhere else. You won't be disappointed:-)

  Went to Abbott’s for the first time this afternoon. Everybody was very helpful and courteous. The atmosphere was great, easily found and purchased what I was looking for. This will be my coin place moving forward!

  I went there Friday (7/31/20) to sell some silver & had the Pleasure of meeting John Abbott who waited on me. He then walked me to my vehicle where we stood and chatted about fishing. I've been coming here for years & my husband has been coming here for over 30 years. ALWAYS treated right. They are polite, friendly & respectful. Very professional as always!

  I drove 45 minutes to buy 8 ounces of pure gold bullion. The price they had given me over the phone was $2,023 per ounce but when I arrived at Abbott’s an hour later the dealer not only increased the price but also rudely told me they only make $15 off of one ounce of gold, which frankly doesn’t make sense to me. I was ready to spend over $16,000 cash with them but now I will definitely not be returning to Abbott’s due to the hostile customer service and sketchy price increases.

  Prices fluctuate during the day. It is a free market, which is why when your husband and child came back a couple of days later and did business with us they understood. Sorry you did not.

  They are literally money-grubbing argumentative shopkeepers. Despite positive reviews, their “ true colors “ appeared: As a CPA with training in fraud risk, I saw many red flags in a terrible experience 3 weeks ago: They refused to refund my purchase price of an item bought 3 business days prior. The item was overpriced by about $90 according to an independent, highly-credentialled dealer in my city. They wanted to keep $140 of the $440 I paid for the item, with their nasty coin dealer Andrew Peirce and surly co-owner Matt Abbott pressuring me to simply go away. After a stressful 10 minutes, Mr Abbott threw my refund in my direction.

  I’m not sure I have ever written a review before but I feel compelled to write one now. My ten-year-old son has recently begun to collect coins. He is just beginning to learn about what he likes . I looked at Coin Store reviews and we decided to visit Abbott’s today. Andrew spent almost an hour with my son. He took the time to explain many things and encouraged his interest, helping him find exactly what he wanted. I’m sure he knew we weren’t going to be big spenders when my son came in with his own wallet but he treated us like we were serious coin collectors and never rushed us. We will most definitely be back. It’s not often that people take so much care and time helping a customer, knowing that they won’t be making a big sale .

  Great place to go to get your precious metal and coin purchase complete. I was assisted today by Ray who was incredibly informative and knowledgeable about the business and my purchase. This is definitely the place to go whether you are a beginner or advanced investor in the precious metals market.

  The Abbot establishment has always been supremely helpful, as well as convenient and trustworthy. The staff members always greet you with a smile, and exceptional service. If you were looking for a fun place to trade and enjoy the finer metals in life, I will recommend Abbot’s every time. Mr. Norman is my go-to advisor here, But I am confident as long as you are dealing with Abbots in Birmingham, you are in good hands.

  I was referred to Abbott’s by another jewelry store to sell an engagement ring. I didn’t feel welcomed even coming into the store but there was an older gentleman that helped me, after looking over my ring and the official appraisal paperwork he gave me a price that I wasn’t comfortable with and I politely said no thank you. Afterwards he turned away with no explanation of reasoning and didn’t tell me have a good day or anything. I felt very unwelcome in that place of business, maybe I was bothering him by coming in or maybe because of not having the “right” skin tone. Whatever the case I will never recommend anyone try this establishment.
