  I want to love Westerra, I really do. Their tellers are nice people and the mission of community banking is one I support. But, they simply fall short time after time, particularly in tech and online services. I can't count the number of times I have connectivity issues because the Westerra system is down or dysfunctional, as in this morning when I finally felt compelled to write this. They just aren't big enough to offer the services you might expect, and I'm not sure they offer the kind of personal attention that you used to get from a small local bank. Lose, lose.

  Terrible. Open then closed again, no warnings. Given the back and forth you’d think they could help you out with fees for external transfers, but nope! When you call yo speak with someone, plan on being on hold at least an hour and they never call back, so just give up! Michelle, a manager, also was unhelpful, unable to find and reasonable solutions, sent me to another bank in Arvada, she stated was open, drove 25 miles out of my way to find it was also closed. No issues really until now, but they are different now, don’t bother. Move on!

  My wife and I were very happy with the loan process at Westerra Credit Union and much of that is due to the efforts of Kimberlee Stephenson on our behalf. She was very thorough and friendly. Her knowledge and ability to answer all our questions put us at ease. We would have no problem recommending her to anyone seeking a loan at Westerra. Peter Worner

  Westerra has been our credit union for many years and our financier of our first brand new car when others would not consider us. We paid all of our payments and built our credit standing with them. We now have our home mortgage with them as well. They are a credit union that is local and one that we can trust. That is a rare combination these days.

  I’ve been a member for five years and have always been pleased with the professional service at Westerra. I couldn’t ask for a better banking experience. I received a home equity loan through this credit union and it was easy and quick. I like this credit union.

  Westerra is a complete joke. I never signed up for courtesy pay and it clearly says on their website this is something you have to opt in for. I was under the understanding that if I did not have funds in my account that it would just be declined. I am currently being charged a $31 fee for a PENDING transaction and they won’t get rid of it. I’ve always banked with credit unions but never have I had one try and nickel and dime you. As soon as my direct deposit clears I’m pulling all my money out and closing the account. In 6 months they have severely disappointed me 3 times but I kept giving them another chance as it’s a huge pain to change accounts, but I’m done.

  Save yourself from the nightmare of dealing with the Westerra Credit Union! I have a car loan with them and it takes serval months and calls to get a straight answer! I'm still trying to pay just a principal only payment! The external transfer on their website still has not given me my verification code. Then I thought I'd save myself the trouble and just write a check and deposit it on the app. Guess what surprises it doesn't work and referred me to call them. Once I got ahold of someone they said they weren't sure why it wasn't working! Wow, that's helpful (not). He said he would call me back once he figured it out. Still no call! Westerra has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! YOU'RE JUST A NUMBER!

  The girl tellers are super friendly and helpful. However the person who opened my account was not very informative. I opened a savings account for my son and they didn't tell me anything, just asked for my info. . . .

  This is an awful experience. I usually come in here by weekly the systems are always down. The staff is extremely rude. Today was the breaking point when they Teller "Dora" extremely disrespectful condescending. She asked for my social security number and wanted me to say it aloud and wouldn't stay why she needed my full social security number when I asked her why is when the attitude came on I asked to talk to her manager and she said she wasn't there. I asked for her managers card in her car and she rolled her eyes and putting me in the wrong direction. The worst customer service I've ever experienced at a bank Dreadful experience.

  Kim Stephenson is a great representative of Westerra CU. She led us through our re-finance step by step and clearly answered all of our questions. This made the process easy and satisfying.
