Paula Starnes5My husband and I were looking for a used Subaru Outback and Russ Ali came through for us! Very knowledgeable, great listening skills, did not try to sell us something else. We had a bit of a snafu with bank paperwork as it was MLK day and the bank was closed. But, Russ came up with a solution and we were able to take the car home that day. He was very personable, very attentive. Truly interested in us like friends and opened the conversation to more then 'let me sell you a car - next customer'. Great experience, I would not hesitate for a second to refer people to Russ Ali.

Robert White5Since our move to the US in 2014, we've been very satisfied with the customer service at the pre-owned vehicle lot; in the past couple of years we've bought here 3 VWs (Jetta, Tiguan, Passat, we love and trust our VWs!). Our go-to guy here is Russ, a very cordial, helpful, professional sales rep. As a foreigner working on building my credit history, vehicle loans are sometimes hard to access, so actually receiving a VW Credit with a great Interest rate was an amazing deal for me and my family!!! I trust this dealer with my eyes closed.

Cristian Alexander5We purchased a 2012 Jetta SE and love it. The whole experience was great. Everything from picking out the car with the sales person to sitting down with the finance manager was easy and enjoyable. I would recommend West Houston VW to anyone looking for a car.

Segun Yayi5I took my 2006 VW Passat 2.0T in because my catalytic converter gave up on me and my car was very loud. My brakes subsequently stopped working because of the bad converter. West Houston VW fixed my catalytic converter, my brakes, and one other thing that I didn't know was defective. And gave me a loaner car the whole time my car was in the shop! Everything cost me zero dollars!!! Apparently, the catalytic converter was covered by a recall. From the second I went in to when I picked up my car 5 days later, the service was impeccable and first class. John Salassi was my Service Adviser and he is excellent. John was courteous, respectful, and professional. He had great communication and always kept me in the loop as to what the status was on my car. He recommended that I fix a couple of other things while my car was in the shop and I told him I will take care of those later. To my surprise, he did not try to be pushy (like almost all mechanic shops do), instead, he explained what needed to be replaced and why. I can't say enough about the quality of the service John gave me while I was there. These guys are the best. Hands down. I've owned luxury cars before (BMW, Infiniti, Mercedes, etc.) and the only dealership that gave me a similar level of service was Mercedes Benz of Gainesville in Florida. I will definitely go back there (if I need to) and will not hesitate to recommend West Houston VW to anyone for any car service needs (buying or fixing).

Sherry Han1I do not know how this dealership stays in business. Warning: long story incoming. So 7 years ago, I walked out of here because of the rude staff (and the manager basically laughed in my face at my offer). I then went to VW Jersey Village, gave the same offer which they accepted on the spot. That was 7 years ago and I drove out with a brand new Jetta. A few days later a lady from VW West calls me up and asks if I'm still in the market. I told her I got the car at VW Jersey Village, and she asks if it's at the price I wanted. I said, "Yup!" and the ensuing awkward silence was priceless. That's what you get for snickering at my offer, lady. I thought I was done with this dealership back then. Fast forward to two days ago. I needed another car and I made the mistake of coming here. I thought I'd give them another shot since they're right by me and they've had 7 years to step up their act. Nope. Here's the kind of crap I had to deal with: - Nobody came to greet me for 10 solid minutes after I entered their establishment. I walked around the place aimlessly, just waiting. By the way, I had an appointment. - They gave me the WORST price for my trade-in out of 7 dealerships I went to. I'm talking thousands worse. - They refused to give me a firm price on a lease without pulling my credit and my consent that I would buy a car THAT DAY. By the way, every other dealership was able to give me a solid offer without pulling my credit. Nor did any of them put me on the spot to buy IMMEDIATELY. - They worked the full price of the trade-in into the lease before giving me estimated monthlies. If you're unfamiliar with leases, let me give you an example. Let's say the car I wanted was $30k with a $5k down payment and my trade-in was $15k, I would want to get $10k back in cash (after $5k down on the new car). But this dealership worked my full trade-in equity into the lease beforehand. So I'm looking at a $15k lease which I still need to cough up money for (for the down payment as well as monthlies). Why is this bad? Well, I specifically told them I would not be keeping the car for more than three years, so obviously I would prefer as little down payment and monthlies as possible. Why the HELL would I return a car in 3 years that I already have 20-25k equity in? They are basically pigeonholing me into buying the car in 3 years, defeating the purpose of the lease while still profiting off of the money factor. Every other dealership has given me the cashback option. But no, not this one. I was told they actually need the owner's permission if I wanted to do cashback instead of putting the equity of my trade-in into the lease. Total BS. By the way, their internet prices have a lot of stipulations attached to them. Some are lease only. Some require you to trade in a vehicle. Don't take them at face value because chances are you're not gonna qualify for all those savings. So anyway, I couldn't walk out of here fast enough. Guess where I went? Back to good ol' VW Jersey Village. They're a little out of the way for me, but I walked out that same day with a brand new Passat. They even fed me lunch while I was there. The discounts VW Jersey Village offer work on everything, by the way. Cash, lease, trade-in or not, finance, etc. No BS stipulations. TL;DR: Avoid VW West Houston like the plague. Go to VW Jersey Village instead. I will never go back to VW West. Not for maintenance and not to buy. I mean, did you read those horrible reviews about them not having enough loaner cars? They're definitely scary enough to steer me away for good. P.S. Am I the only one who balks at their "We don't lose a customer over price" slogan? Apparently (and I don't know how true this is after reading some bad reviews) they'll beat any competitor's price by $100. So this means they're willing to shortchange me at first, but will back down when I show them that they've in fact shortchanged me? No thanks. I'd rather pay $100 more at a better dealership. Pretty sure all the good reviews for this place were bought/fake.

Bryce Gibson5Amazing dealership and customer service. Russ and Reggie truly go above and beyond in their work. They are very honest and do everything possible to provide great customer service. When purchasing a new or used VW see Russ and for all of your service questions see Reggie. Great men that are professional and courteous in every way.

Van B1Absolute Fail! These guys did not live up to their claimed customer service standards. Bought the same car from another dealer for a better price in two hours after wasting almost an entire day trying to communicate with West Houston VW... Additionally, looking at recent reviews, it seems to be a trend item as of late. In my experience, they might just be experiencing a little too much success and aren't sufficiently motivated to help military customers who require more thought and effort due to logistical constraints.

Greg Taylor1Horrible experience today with the used car division of this dealership. Have been talking to David Bowers for two days about the purchase of a used vehicle, went to look at it last night, which was his day off. Emailed him last night and said we wanted to purchase the car and he sold it out from under us this morning. He was extremely rude when we drove out to the dealership this morning, telling us "It's gone! It's gone"! He didn't look us in the eyes or shake our hands. Just yelled at us. The used car manager witnessed the whole thing as did at least 2 other associates and they said nothing. No "We are sorry, is there anything else we can do" or nothing. Do Not Waste Your Time with this place. And, this dealership is an approved USAA dealership. Shame on USAA for doing business with these people.

Puneet Saggar5It was great pleasure talking to the staff and buying my New Beetle from this dealership. The sales consultant delivered great attitude and knowledge towards his work and he was very kind in providing us any detail we requested and did his due diligence until the drive out. We appreciate the time and efforts put in by the pre-owned Sales Director as well.

Amanda Atru_7275We are on our 3rd VW and couldn't be happier. From the sales team to the service department, we never leave unhappy. They have always been quick with their service, as well as offering some things because of our loyal history, and yesterday's experience with Carla was no different. We plan to continue to purchase from West Houston VW and to recommend to our friends and family.
