Sarah Wieder1I have been a Hyundai customer for over 8 years. The last car purchase we made was from West Broad Hyundai, and we have had both of our Hyundai's serviced at this location for many years. Two days ago, we purchased a Hyundai from another dealer (because it was $3k less there). Unfortunately, the salesperson didn't put the SD card in the new car so some features were not working. I called BlueLink and was told that any Hyundai dealership could help with this. We also purchased a service plan for the new vehicle with the intention of having all of its service done at W. Broad Hyundai. I called W. Broad today to see if they could schedule me for getting the SD card taken care of and was told that I had to go back to the dealership I bought the car from. When I told him that I knew that wasn't the case, he then said he couldn't get me in for at least a week and a half. I called the dealership we bought the car from and found out that the SD card was actually in the huge thing of documents with the owner's manual and I could install it myself. Pretty peeved that W. Broad service didn't just tell me that when I called. I would never do business with them again if it weren't for the service plan.
Response from the ownerSarah, I was going through reviews today and saw this review you posted. Congratulations on your Hyundai purchase last year. I wish we could have discussed the numbers on the cars. It's not often we get beat by $3,000 and we would have loved to earn your business a second time! Regarding the SD card issue, we did the right thing suggesting you go to the dealer from which you purchased. The SD cards are about $160 a piece to replace, and that isn't something you should have to pay for on a new car. Yes, the SD cards are in with the manuals on the new cars, but at our dealership, our technicians put the card in during the initial inspection, so the only time those SD cards are missing, is when someone takes it out of the card slot and puts it in another car that is being sold. That's probably why the service advisor didn't suggest you check the packet. Thank you for your feedback and please consider us for service!

I was definitely doing my research before hand on different brands, and I obviously went to different dealers to test drive and look at cars. West Broad Hyundai by far gave me the best deal with an amazing car. Todd was very helpful and easy to work with, and he definitely gave me everything I was looking for in my next vehicle for the price I needed. If you want great customer service, a great looking car with great gas mileage, as well as all the great features like navigation, backup camera, etc, go to West Broad Hyundai and ask for Todd!

Lito Ornelas1I'm not usually one to nitpick, but my experience here was under satisfactory. I called the day before to set up an oil change appointment at 8:20 AM. Phone service was great, kind, and courteous. The day of my oil change I arrived 5 mins before my scheduled appointment and didn't leave till 10:20 AM. I understand busy, but this is kind of crazy. I don't mind an 45 mins to 1 HR waiting, but this was very bad experience. I also wanted to use a $20.00 voucher at the time of my checkout which was valid, but they insisted I keep it for the next service because it was "easier" for them to just charge me instead of inputting the coupon code.

Brian K Landis1SHEISTY. While returning from Virginia Beach to Richmond, my 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe's engine seized due to Hyundai's engine recall and that it would be replaced due to the recent rash of bad engines that had been improperly machined. Over seven weeks later, I was informed that my car was ready to pickup in Virginia Beach. The customer service at Priority Hyundai in VB was exceptional. However, on the way back to Richmond, I tried to use my air conditioning and it was not working so I immediately took my car to West Broad Hyundai and told them the issue. After two hours waiting in their waiting room, I was informed that not only was my AC Compressor unplugged when they checked, but it was also bad and it would require an $1800 replacement. When my car was towed to VB Hyundai, my AC was working with no problems. Needless to say, I was frustrated and told the service rep at West Broad Hyundai my AC was working when I had it towed in and that I shouldn't be responsible for the this fix. A "Good Will" warranty replacement of this part from West Broad Hyundai was requested from corporate, but was told that it was declined due to the vehicle's age. Crazy thing is, my AC is magically working without incident now and I've been told by a service tech that this part either works or it doesn't. There's no middle ground. In fact, as soon as I drove it off the lot of West Broad Hyundai, it seemed to be working. On top of this, the service rep at West Broad Hyundai wouldn't give me a copy of the service receipt. I guess there's a reason why they've been nicknamed "stealerships".

To have an intermittent problem like your vehicle apparently has, can be frustrating, and it seems from your remarks that we could have done better to ease your frustration. The fact that your AC wasn't working when you came to us, but it was working when you left seems like we left you in a better situation than what you started with. It is beyond me why a service advisor would have refused to provide a receipt for work completed here, so I will get with the service manager to address that issue.
