United Federal Credit Union - Promenade Reviews

madisonsoccer445I recently started banking with United Federal Credit Union after a family member referred me. Stephanie and Stacy were amazing at helping get my accounts set up! A few months after becoming a member I needed a loan for a new vehicle, Stacy was able to get me a loan within the hour with an amazing interest rate! I travel for work so I call the bank often for support and their customer support is always friendly and efficient in answering any question.

Bob DeVos1I would not use this bank at all. They do not tell you they will steal the money when you re-finance your car loan. At all other banks you get the unused portion of your GAP insurance back. These guys keep it or shall I say steal it. In my book unused means, “Not needed, not used, not theirs to keep” this is stealing, and they are good at it. They have very small print in the loan papers stating you must cancel the GAP insurance before 60 days to get your money back. They are a joke, do not do business with them! They will steal your money!

Amber Rose Gallagher5I'm a regular at this bank and everyone is always super friendly and helpful. I'm very surprised to see the negative reviews. They have always helped me with NSF fees (until I wore it out. My fault, not theirs) and have went out of their way to help me via email when I could not get certain answers myself. I do wish they would reject transactions that there is no money to cover but that's just not how it goes, unfortunately. We all have to be responsible to know the institution rules and regulations.
Response from the ownerThank you for taking the time to let us know how we are doing, Amber! We'll let the team know about your fantastic review!

Dianna Cline1I will be closing my account as soon as possible with this credit union. My payroll direct deposit didn’t go in as normal because the payroll company somehow messed everyone’s payroll so no one got paid. I did not have time to stop any automatic transactions that were coming out on that day so the bank charged me 4 NSF fees anyway. Every bank I’ve used in my 30 years of banking would at least allow you to transfer money into your account before the close of business or that institutions deposit cut off time that very day the transactions were coming through and no NSF fee would be charged but this credit union doesn’t care if you get money in your account to cover those transactions, they will charge you an NSF regardless. Doesn’t matter your circumstances, etc they will get that NSF fee. I have NEVER seen or had that happen before.

Elsie Cruz1I walked into the United Federal Credit Union - Promenade branch today to open a checking account. My son who is a member referred me and raved about their customer service. I was told member service advisor Valyn Hunt was busy and it would be a 20-minute wait. After approximately 10-15 minutes of waiting, the teller informed me it would be longer than originally anticipated. Valyn had paperwork to complete before he can assist me. I did not have the same experience as my son. In my opinion, they lack customer service, I decided it would be best to take my money elsewhere.
Response from the ownerHi Elsie, we’re sorry to hear you had a negative experience. Feedback like this is extremely valuable to us, thank you for sharing it.

Conrad Knepper1Consistently having issues with online payments. I have had two payments "not been successful" yet the money was taken out of my accounts and the monthly payment have not yet been paid. Even though I provide representatives my bank statement showing then I have indeed made payments. "There is no proof of payment" on their side. This next issue was recently. I refinanced my auto loan with United for a longer term causing my monthly payments to be smaller (as a new dad, I believed this would be beneficial). I canceled the GAP insurance on the old loan and was told that I would receive a check by both United and the dealership I purchased my vehicle from. However, the refund went straight to United. As of currently, I am not receiving emails from any representatives that I am currently in contact with. My advice would be to choose ANYONE else... Literally anyone...

Vladimir Goforth1One of the worst institutions I have dealt with. Terrible customer service and lack of knowledge across the entire staff. No help whatsoever. Withdrew money 10 days early before the scheduled 20th withdrawal date and overdrew my account and then said not our problem and would not refund. Choose another bank.
Response from the ownerHi Vladimir, we apologize for your recent negative experience. A Member Service Advisor reached out to you today via telephone. Lorene Bowland1They took double payment out from my outside checking account and when I called to have them correct it they told me they couldn't send back my extra payment that they took out. It should have flagged them 2 payments to the exact penny on the same day.

Marissa Fahrig5We have very much enjoyed our experience thus far. Jonathan at this branch has been very helpful with any issues we have come across. Their online system is easy to use and I like how we have access to so much information.
Response from the ownerHi Marissa, we're thrilled to get this feedback from you! Thank you for sharing your experience at United, we appreciate you.

Bobby Swafford1Worst lender i've ever dealt with. Their online payment system is a joke. It is currently 2:30pm and i cant schedule a payment and avoid a late fee. Its well before 5pm (Standard Business Hours) and scheduling a payment shouldn't be this hard. I will have to go to one of these inconvenient locations and pay in person. Its 2019 and scheduling a payment with this company is like pulling teeth.
Response from the ownerWe apologize for any inconvenience, Bobby! We're committed to creating a frictionless experience and are working hard on improvements and optimizations but it can take a bit of time to work out all the kinks. We appreciate your feedback and all your patience and will be sure to pass this along for you!
