I've used The Motley Fool for many years and I almost always crush the stock indices. I originally joined the service because I hate doing the front-end research. The Gardners know what they're doing and there are other solid analysts in the TMF universe. The have recommended a number of top producers for me over the years including NFLX, TDG, CMG, SHOP and AMZN. The stock markets in the US are still one of the ways to produce healthy investment returns. But you do still have to educate yourself on how stock investing works. If you join the services, take your time to learn about stock investing, you should be able to do well. If you're proficient, you'll be able to regularly outperform the stock indices.

The recommendations made my MF have helped me make good decisions on my retirement investments. One of my accounts doubled in 15 months due to their timely recommendations. Thanks MF.

I trust you guys implicitly. My investments have made over 500% in 5+ years, through thick and thin, based on your recommendations. You are straight shooters and give awfully good advice about investing all the time. Very few companies I have dealt with have as good a track record. Keep up the good work!

      Response from the owner

Thank you for the positive feedback! It sounds like you’re building a diverse portfolio, which is great! We encourage our members to build a diverse portfolio of at least 10-15 stocks that they plan on holding for a minimum of 3-5 years. It’s our belief that this combination is the best way to counteract the whims of the market. If you have any questions regarding your subscription(s), need assistance navigating our website, or would like to share additional feedback, please reach out to our Member Services department - we're happy to help! You can reach our representatives via the help tab on Fool.com or by phone. Foolishly, Ashley

Detailed and timely recommendations that align with my “buy great companies and holding them” for an extended period of time. Most of the services have been unique and hit various areas of investments allowing me to diversify my portfolio. However, some of the recent ones have overlapped other services. Have easily been able to triple the value of my investments over the last 15 years.

      Response from the owner

      Thank you, Stephen!

I started receiving unwanted marketing emails from Motley Fool daily. I did not establish an account as I do not desire their services. Their website states there is an unsubscribe option at the end of all their marketing emails, but that is not true. I followed the difficult to find instructions to unsubscribe another way by sending an email requesting to be taken off their marketing list, but they have been non-responsive. I continue to receive their emails daily and find their lack of responsiveness very unprofessional!!

Started with mutual funds over a decade ago. Have done ok with those, but wanted to control my holdings better. Bought into the Stock Advisor a few years ago and have done very well. Initially, I would reevaluate the Fool's recommendations. After a year or so I came to the realization that I was doing what had already been done for me. Fast forward, and I can't imagine not having the Fool's in my financial life. I know I'm a Fool for life!

      Response from the owner

Thanks so much for being a Fool for life, Paul!

I based my investment strategy for my IRAs and other stock accounts using your recommendations, and significantly improved my holdings. Using your service is an absolute no-brainer. Thank you very much.

A great investing newsletter run by founders who unabashedly promote buy and hold. No swing trades, no short term advise, no stop loss guidance. Downside is the never ending promotions of niche service like cannabis stocks, like ipo, like small cap discovery stocks. They company is forward thinking and believe that the big winners left in your portfolio over the long term make up for the losers . The best subscription service in the MF arsenal was the Motley Fool Pro fund; unfortunately, they discontinued that fund when Mr Jeff Fisher departed to start a private equity sister fund for high net worth investors. The other major downside are the hundreds of articles sent out daily on the inet from non analysts/ non employees who apparently are regular contributors on the MF community blog. Often these articles attached with MF logo contradict MF reommendations made by the Motley Fool subscription service you could have paid thousands of dollars to join. These articlesa tout / promote 10 stocks we like better than the stock being discussed and drive you to click on a link - nothing wrong with promotions provided the article contains sound analysis -but again not when you don't know the qualifications of the non-employee author or paid contributorsw goal without doubt is to drive new membership more than provide serious analysis. Imagine seeing a recommended sell or don't buy article on a stock attached with a MF logo (& email address ) contradicting a recommendation issued perhaps just a week before by that subscription service you may have paid hundreds or thousands of dollars for. Believe me it doesn't instill confidence in the latest recommendation. Still, these annoyances are more than compensated for by the special reports on different areas of investment and trend spotting of certain industries like cloud computing, AI, SAAS companies etc. Despite the nit-picking, my portfolio increase and investment knowledge has substantially risen and the cost of being a member has easily paid for itself by the portfolio gains -notwithstanding the current panic driven market sell off.
